Senior Automation Test Engineer ( VMware)

Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Senior Automation Test Engineer with strong expertise in VMware virtualization technologies, Linux platforms, and test automation. The ideal candidate will be responsible for designing, developing, and executing automated test solutions to validate enterprise virtualization products and infrastructure. The role requires hands-on experience with VMware environments, automation frameworks, CI/CD pipelines, defect management, and quality assurance best practices.

Location & Work Model

- Work Location: Bangalore
- Client Location: J.P. Nagar, Bangalore
- Mandatory Work From Office (WFO): 3 Days per Week

Roles & Responsibilities

- Design, develop, and maintain automated test frameworks and test scripts using Python.
- Perform functional, integration, regression, and system testing for VMware-based solutions.
- Validate VMware infrastructure components including ESXi, vSphere, vCenter, and related virtualization technologies.
- Develop and execute automated test cases for Linux-based environments.
- Analyze test results, identify product defects, and drive issues to closure.
- Log, track, and manage defects using Bugzilla and Jira.
- Integrate test automation into CI/CD pipelines using Jenkins.
- Collaborate with developers, architects, and product teams to ensure quality throughout the SDLC.
- Review requirements, design documents, and test plans to identify test coverage gaps.




- Participate in code reviews, test reviews, and continuous process improvement initiatives.
- Create and maintain test documentation, automation reports, and quality metrics.
- Support release validation, patch testing, and platform certification activities.

Preferred Qualifications

- Robust hands-on experience with VMware virtualization platforms.
- Experience working in enterprise Linux environments.
- Knowledge of virtualization, cloud, and infrastructure testing methodologies.
- Familiarity with Agile/Scrum development processes.
- Excellent problem-solving, troubleshooting, and communication skills.
