Where this role sits

As a Research Officer, you will conduct research under the direction of a project lead: running the literature and data work, drafting sections of reports, and preparing the evidence base that goes into a client submission, rather than deciding what the study asks in the first place.

Research and drafting

- Conduct secondary research and structured data collection against a defined brief
- Draft sections of reports, briefing notes, and literature reviews
- Cross-check facts, figures, and citations before a document goes to review

Project support

- Support survey design, coding,



and basic tabulation on quantitative studies
- Keep project files, sources, and version history in order for the lead researcher

The profile that fits

- 2 to 6 years producing research or written analysis under supervision
- Robust secondary research skills and comfort with structured data
- Precise, well-sourced writing that a senior reviewer can trust
- Clear written and spoken English

A bonus if you have it

- Exposure to public-sector, development, or policy-adjacent research
- A postgraduate degree in economics, public policy, or social science
- Familiarity with survey tools and basic statistical software
