Profile: Merchandiser

Experience:

- Minimum 2 years of experience as a Merchandiser, preferably in a textile, garment or fabric manufacturing set-up

Roles:

1. Fabric Sourcing & Procurement: Source raw materials such as sewing yarn, greige fabric, dyes and chemicals from trusted vendors at competitive rates.
2. Sampling & Development: Coordinate fabric swatches and quality testing as per buyer specifications.
3. Costing & Negotiation: Calculate yarn, weaving/knitting and processing costs, and negotiate prices and delivery schedules with suppliers and buyers.
4. Order Execution & T&A; Tracking: Monitor Time & Action (T&A;) calendars to ensure weaving, dyeing, finishing and dispatch happen on schedule.
5. Departmental Coordination: Act as the bridge between production, quality control, inventory and shipping departments.
6. New Styles: Introduce current styles and designs in line with market demand.
7. Fashion Forecasting & Development:



Track fashion trends and handle design development and sample development.
8. Vendor Management & Sourcing: Build and maintain a reliable vendor base and manage vendor performance.
9. Color Matching: Ensure colors match approved shades and buyer standards.
10. Stitching Unit Follow-up: Follow up with the stitching unit on production progress and quality.
11. Digital Print Unit Follow-up & Design Selection: Coordinate with the digital print unit and handle design selection.
12. Embroidery Unit Follow-up: Follow up with the embroidery unit on timelines and quality.
13. Cutting Master Coordination: Coordinate with the cutting master for smooth, accurate cutting and production flow.

Qualification:

- Diploma in Visual Merchandising
- B. Des in Fashion and Merchandising
