Wanted: Global Innovators to Help Us Build Tomorrow's Enterprise In the role of Tandem / HPE NonStop & OpenVMS Engineer, you will be responsible for the administration, support, and continuous improvement of mission-critical legacy platforms including HPE NonStop (Tandem) and OpenVMS environments. You will ensure high availability, fault tolerance, and operational stability of these business-critical systems, which are typically used in financial services, telecom, and large enterprise environments. You will own the day-to-day operations, incident management, system performance tuning, patching, and lifecycle management of these platforms. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams including application, database, and infrastructure teams to maintain service excellence in an ITIL-aligned delivery model. ________________________________________ Qualifications Basic - Bachelor's degree or foreign equivalent required from an accredited institution. - 8–12 years of hands-on experience in managing enterprise-grade HPE NonStop (Tandem) and/or OpenVMS systems. - Strong experience in system administration, production support, and troubleshooting in critical infrastructure environments. ________________________________________ Preferred Tandem / HPE NonStop Skills - Strong hands-on experience with HPE NonStop (Tandem) systems. - Experience in system monitoring, capacity planning, and performance tuning of NonStop systems. - Knowledge of Spooler, NetBatch, Expand network, EMS events, and system console operations.



- Experience handling hardware/software upgrades, patching, and system backup/restore operations. OpenVMS Skills - Strong experience in OpenVMS system administration, including: o User management, batch jobs, and queue management o Cluster configuration and management o Backup and recovery using standard VMS utilities - Experience in DECnet / TCP-IP services configuration and troubleshooting. - Knowledge of storage and filesystem management in OpenVMS environments. General Infrastructure Skills - Strong troubleshooting and root cause analysis skills for system, performance, and application issues. - Experience working in highly available, mission-critical environments with strict SLAs. - Familiarity with ITIL processes (Incident, Problem, Change, and Release Management). - Experience with scripting/automation (Shell, DCL, Python, or similar) for operational efficiency. - Ability to work in 24x7 support model, including on-call rotations and critical incident handling. Collaboration & Communication - Solid interpersonal and communication skills. - Ability to work with global teams across infrastructure, application, and business stakeholders. - Experience in documenting operational procedures, system configurations, and issue resolutions. ________________________________________ Nice to Have - Exposure to modernization/migration initiatives (e.G., OpenVMS/Tandem to Linux or cloud platforms). - Experience with monitoring tools and enterprise observability platforms. - Knowledge of security best practices for legacy systems. - Basic understanding of cloud and hybrid infrastructure models. - Exposure to DevOps practices and automation frameworks. ________________________________________ Additional Information The job entails working at a computer for extended periods of time. The role may require participation in rotational shifts, weekend support, and on-call duties for critical production environments.
