Role Description As a Senior Speech ML Engineer at OyeHello AI, you will design, build, and optimize speech recognition and natural language understanding models tailored to India’s diverse languages and conversational patterns. You will work on developing and improving neural architectures for multilingual and code-mixed speech (including Hinglish), training and evaluating models using large-scale datasets, and enhancing robustness in real-world call and chat environments. This full-time, in office role in Bengaluru involves close collaboration with product, engineering, and linguistics teams to translate business requirements into deployable ML solutions, integrate models into production systems,



and monitor performance in live customer interactions.

You will also mentor junior engineers, contribute to research and experimentation, and help define best practices for scalable, reliable speech ML pipelines.

Qualifications

- Strong foundation in Computer Science and Algorithms, with the ability to design efficient, scalable solutions for production ML systems.
- Expertise in Neural Networks and Pattern Recognition, particularly applied to speech, audio processing, or natural language tasks.
- Proficiency in Statistics and quantitative analysis, including experimental design, evaluation metrics, and error analysis for ML models.
- Hands-on experience with modern ML frameworks (e.g., PyTorch, TensorFlow), speech toolkits (e.g., Kaldi, ESPnet), and deployment on cloud or edge environments.
- Proficiency in Python and familiarity with data processing tools and pipelines (e.g., NumPy, Pandas, Spark or similar).
- Experience building and optimizing ASR, TTS, or NLU models for multilingual or noisy real-world environments; prior work with Indian languages is a strong plus.
- Ability to work on-site in Bengaluru, collaborate effectively in cross-functional teams, and mentor peers in best practices for ML development.
- Master’s or PhD in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Applied Mathematics, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience in speech and ML.
