Job Title : Senior SAP ABAP Consultant – Brazil Taxation

Description

Take full ownership of all tax-related ABAP objects, including those built by other teams, and resolve issues end to end.

Analyse, fix and enhance Brazil localization developments: Nota Fiscal (NF-e, NFS-e, CT-e), J1BTAX / TAXBRA tax determination, and related BAdIs and user exits.

Support and troubleshoot the Avalara tax engine integration with SAP, including interface mapping, error handling and reprocessing.

Build and stabilise tax and statutory reports, and drive them to production.

Manage transports through the client's release procedure, coordinating with Mahindra GTO IT to clear the backlog.

Close pending hypercare items; work directly with business users and functional consultants (FI, SD, MM) to gather inputs and validate fixes.

Deliver enhancements and improvements to existing tax configurations and programs.

Prepare the technical groundwork for the Brazilian Tax Reform (IBS / CBS)

Write technical specs, unit test documentation and knowledge articles so users can work with minimal consultant involvement in production.

Must-have skills

8+ years of hands-on SAP ABAP on ECC and/or S/4HANA: reports, ALV, SmartForms Adobe Forms, BAPIs, BAdIs, enhancements, user exits

Proven Brazil tax development experience: NF-e / J1BNFE,



J_1BNF* tables and BAdIs, tax condition technique, CFOP, NCM, ICMS, IPI, PIS / COFINS, ISS

Integration with external tax engines (Avalara preferred; Mastersaf / Client ONESOURCE also relevant) via RFC, IDoc, Proxy or web services

Strong debugging and performance tuning; ABAP OO, CDS views and AMDP on S/4HANA

Working knowledge of FI, SD and MM tax-relevant flows (order-to-cash, procure-to-pay)

Transport management and change control under a formal release procedure

Experience in AMS / production support with SLA-driven ticket handling

Positive to have

Exposure to Brazilian Tax Reform (IBS, CBS, Imposto Seletivo) and SAP's related notes and DRC updates

SAP Document and Reporting Compliance (DRC) / eDocument Brazil, SPED (EFD ICMS/IPI, EFD-Contribuições)

Automotive or manufacturing industry experience

Working Portuguese, or experience supporting Brazilian business users
