About the Role

Zaksberg Workwear is looking for an experienced Senior Merchandiser to manage domestic and overseas buyer accounts and coordinate orders from initial inquiry through sampling, production, quality approval, invoicing, and final delivery.

The candidate will handle woven and knitted apparel, including outdoor workwear, and coordinate production and dispatches across multiple factories.

Roles and Responsibilities

- Buyer inquiries and account management: Handle inquiries from overseas buyers and clients in India. Understand product specifications, quantities, target prices, quality requirements, and delivery schedules. Prepare quotations, coordinate costing, and maintain clear communication throughout the order cycle.
- Product development and sampling: Coordinate fabric and trim sourcing, sample development, fitting, and buyer approvals for woven, knitted, and outdoor workwear apparel. Ensure approved specifications, measurements, construction details, and material requirements are communicated accurately to factories.
- Costing and order confirmation: Prepare garment cost sheets covering fabrics, trims, processing, production, packing, and logistics. Review customer purchase orders and confirm prices, quantities, size ratios, delivery dates, and payment terms with the relevant teams.
- Production planning across factories: Allocate and follow up orders across company and partner factories in coordination with management. Maintain time-and-action plans and monitor fabric availability, cutting, stitching, finishing, packing, and shipment readiness.




- Woven and knitted apparel coordination: Monitor fabric construction, GSM, shrinkage, colour consistency, garment measurements, workmanship, and finishing requirements. Identify material or production issues early and coordinate corrective action.
- Outdoor workwear requirements: Ensure garments meet buyer-approved requirements for durability, fit, reinforcement, functional pockets, trims, and specified fabric finishes. Coordinate any required testing and supporting documentation.
- Quality monitoring: Work closely with factory quality teams to monitor incoming materials, in-line production, finishing, and final inspections. Track defects, follow up corrective actions, and ensure goods meet approved samples and buyer specifications before dispatch.
- Domestic and overseas dispatches: Coordinate shipment schedules across all factories. Verify order quantities, assortment, packing, carton markings, inspection status, and dispatch readiness. Liaise with warehouses, transporters, freight forwarders, and buyers to support timely delivery.
- Invoicing and shipment documentation: Coordinate with accounts and logistics teams to prepare and verify pro forma invoices, commercial invoices, packing lists, and relevant shipment documents. Ensure customer details, prices, quantities, and shipment references match confirmed orders.
- Goods movement and reconciliation:



Track movement of fabrics, trims, work-in-progress, and finished goods between suppliers, factories, processing units, warehouses, and customers. Maintain accurate records of transfers, receipts, dispatches, shortages, returns, and pending balances.
- Delivery and payment follow-up: Share order and shipment updates with buyers, resolve delivery discrepancies, and coordinate with accounts on invoice reconciliation and payment follow-up.
- Reporting and issue resolution: Maintain updated order trackers, production status reports, quality records, and dispatch schedules. Escalate delays and risks promptly and coordinate practical solutions with buyers, factories, and internal teams.

Candidate Requirements

- Preferably 7–10 years of experience in apparel merchandising, with hands-on exposure to both woven and knitted garments.
- Experience in workwear, outdoor apparel, or functional garments is preferred.
- Proven ability to manage domestic and export orders and coordinate multiple factories.
- Strong knowledge of garment costing, fabrics, trims, sampling, production processes, and quality control.
- Experience coordinating invoices, shipment documentation, dispatches, and goods movement.
- Strong written and spoken English, buyer communication, negotiation, and follow-up skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and merchandising or ERP systems.
- A qualification in textiles, apparel production, fashion technology, or a related field is preferred.
- Willingness to visit factories and suppliers as required.

Pay: ₹25,000.00 - ₹40,000.00 per month
