A client of Insight Global is seeking a Senior Integrations Developer (AI Orchestration) who serves as a senior technical lead for enterprise-wide integration and automation efforts. This role is responsible for architecting, developing, and optimizing both deterministic and agentic orchestrations on the organization's integration platform, and for building and maintaining the organization's MCP (Model Context Protocol) gateway — including custom MCP servers built on top of internal and third-party APIs. The developer works across functional teams and technologies to ensure high-quality, secure, and scalable integration delivery that connects enterprise systems, APIs, and AI agents.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Architect and implement advanced integration components, workflows, and system-to-system orchestrations using the organization's integration/automation platform (e.g., iPaaS)

Design and build both deterministic (rule-based) and agentic (AI-driven, autonomous decision-making) orchestrations

Build, maintain, and extend the organization's MCP gateway, including custom MCP servers built on internal and external APIs

Conduct in-depth analysis of system and integration requirements and design scalable, reusable solutions

Develop and maintain integration frameworks, API wrappers, connector templates, and reusable orchestration libraries

Define documentation standards for integrations, MCP tool definitions, and agentic workflows, and ensure compliance across projects

Lead testing strategy for integrations and agentic flows, including performance, regression, and failure-mode testing

Evaluate API design for MCP-readiness (schema clarity, auth patterns, tool-call ergonomics)



and guide internal teams on exposing systems via MCP

Collaborate with stakeholders on enterprise integration and AI-orchestration roadmaps, including evaluation of integration platforms and tooling as organizational needs evolve

Train and mentor junior developers and technical staff on integration development, API design, and MCP/agentic patterns

Evaluate emerging technologies in the integration, AI orchestration, and agent-tooling space and recommend adoption strategies

Ensure integrations and MCP tools follow secure coding, authentication, and data-governance practices

Skills and Requirements

- 8+ years of experience in software engineering or development *Expert-level proficiency in a leading iPaaS/integration platform (e.g., Workato, MuleSoft, Boomi, or similar), including recipe/flow design, connector development, and orchestration patterns *Experience building agentic workflows/orchestrations (AI agents that make autonomous or semi-autonomous decisions within a workflow), or strong orchestration/architecture experience with demonstrated ability to ramp quickly on agentic design patterns *Strong, demonstrable knowledge of APIs (REST, GraphQL, webhooks) and familiarity with MCP (Model Context Protocol)



concepts — ability to consume and author MCP servers/tools from existing APIs; hands-on MCP gateway experience is a plus but not required given the technology's recency *Deep understanding of secure coding practices, authentication/authorization patterns (OAuth, API keys, service accounts), and system performance optimization *Proficiency in at least one scripting/programming language (e.g., JavaScript, Python) for custom connector and MCP server development *Proven ability to lead cross-functional development efforts spanning integration, data, and AI teams *Skilled in data modeling, workflow/orchestration design, and advanced problem-solving *Experience supporting enterprise integration lifecycles, from planning through implementation and operational support Programming exp - Python and SQL JavaScript - writing and maintaining code AI Certs. Workato certifications Boomi or MuleSoft certs
