About the role: Hiring a Senior Full Stack Engineer (React / Node.js) to build cloud platforms that keep homes, businesses and critical sites safe. The software is used every day by security and fire monitoring centres, installers and property owners across Australia, New Zealand, the UK and Ireland.

The team is building a new, cloud native management platform from the ground up. It replaces a set of separate portals with one product and a single sign on, giving installers and monitoring providers one place to set up devices, run diagnostics, manage plans, handle billing and order hardware.

Alongside it sit a white label mobile app for end users, a smart video monitoring service and a managed network service.

As a senior engineer, you'll own large parts of this platform end to end, from API design to the screens people use in the field. You'll make architectural calls, set the bar for code quality, and help a growing team ship reliable software in an industry where a missed alert really matters.

Responsibilities

- Design, build and own full stack features using React and TypeScript on the front end and Node.js on the back end
- Architect APIs and services for device provisioning, remote diagnostics, account and user management, billing and online ordering
- Build responsive interfaces that work as well on a phone in a plant room as on a desktop in a monitoring centre
- Handle real time device status and event data at scale using WebSockets, event streams and message queues
- Implement secure authentication and access control, including SSO, multi factor authentication, role based permissions and multi tenant data isolation
- Build audit trails so every operator action and transaction is traceable,



in line with ISO 27001 requirements
- Lead the migration of features from legacy portals into the new platform without disrupting existing customers
- Review code, mentor other engineers, and raise the bar on testing, observability and deployment practices
- Work closely with product, design, QA and hardware/firmware teams to turn requirements into working software You may be a good fit if you:
- Have 6+ years of experience building production web applications, with deep hands on work in both React and Node.js
- Are equally comfortable working across the front end, back end and database, and have shipped features that touch all three
- Write clean, well tested TypeScript and know when to keep things simple
- Have designed and scaled REST or GraphQL APIs that other teams and customers depend on
- Have shipped and run software on AWS or Azure, including containers, serverless and managed databases
- Are comfortable with PostgreSQL or MySQL, and know where Redis, DynamoDB or MongoDB fits
- Understand web security in practice: OAuth 2.0, OIDC, JWT and the OWASP Top 10
- Own outcomes, not just code, and care whether what you built actually solved the user's problem
- Have mentored engineers and led technical decisions on a team
- Communicate clearly with both technical and non technical people

Solid candidates may also have:

- Experience with IoT, device management or telemetry platforms (MQTT, provisioning, fleet management)
- A background in security, alarm monitoring, fire safety or telecommunications
- Built multi tenant B2B SaaS, including subscriptions and billing
- Worked on video streaming or camera integrations
- Shipped React Native or white label mobile apps
- Worked in an ISO 27001 or similar compliance environment
- Used Kubernetes, Terraform or other infrastructure as code
- Designed event driven or microservice architectures at scale
