Role Description The Sds2 role at Axis EPC Inc. is a full-time remote position focused on creating and managing steel detailing and structural designs using SDS2 software. On a day-to-day basis, the Sds2 professional will develop 3D models, prepare detailed fabrication and erection drawings, and coordinate connections and framing details for commercial, residential, heavy industrial, and petrochemical projects. The role involves reviewing design inputs, interpreting engineering specifications and codes, and collaborating closely with structural engineers, project managers, and other stakeholders to ensure accuracy and constructability.





The Sds2 specialist will perform regular quality checks, update models and drawings based on design changes, and support timely delivery of documentation aligned with client budgets and schedules. The position also includes maintaining organized project files, adhering to company standards, and contributing to continuous improvement of detailing workflows.

Qualifications

- Robust proficiency with SDS2 or similar structural steel detailing software, including 3D modeling and connection detailing.
- Experience in structural engineering or steel detailing for commercial, residential, heavy industrial, or petrochemical projects.
- Ability to interpret structural drawings, specifications, building codes, and industry standards.
- Solid understanding of foundation systems, framing, and load paths; familiarity with civil and mechanical interfaces is beneficial.
- Attention to detail in creating fabrication and erection drawings, with strong skills in checking and quality control.
- Effective communication and collaboration skills to work with engineers, architects, contractors, and other project stakeholders.
- Strong organizational and time-management abilities to handle multiple projects and meet schedule and budget requirements in a remote environment.
- Relevant technical degree or diploma in Structural Engineering, Civil Engineering, or a related field; professional certification or experience with EPC projects is an asset.
- Comfort with digital collaboration tools and document management systems; willingness to learn and adopt new technologies and processes.
