We are looking for an experienced Safety Officer to join our team in the Chemical Manufacturing Industry.

Position: Safety Officer
Industry: Chemical Manufacturing / Specialty Chemicals
Experience: 1 to 8 Years
Location: Chennai-Tamil Nadu
Qualification: Diploma / Degree in Industrial Safety / Safety Engineering / Chemical Engineering or equivalent
Key Responsibilities
- Implement and monitor plant safety policies and procedures
- Conduct HIRA, JSA/JHA, safety inspections and audits
- Manage Permit-to-Work (PTW) and LOTO systems
- Ensure safe handling, storage and transportation of hazardous chemicals
- Conduct incident / near-miss investigations and implement CAPA
- Coordinate emergency preparedness and mock drills
- Conduct safety induction, toolbox talks and safety training
- Monitor contractor safety and PPE compliance
- Ensure statutory safety and factory compliance
- Maintain EHS records, reports and audit documentation
- Support HAZOP and process safety activities
Candidate Profile: 1 to 8 years of relevant experience in a Chemical / Specialty Chemical / Process Manufacturing Plant
Strong knowledge of Industrial Safety & Chemical Process Safety
Hands-on experience in HIRA, HAZOP, PTW, LOTO and Incident Investigation
Valuable communication, coordination and training skills
Experience in statutory inspections and EHS audits will be preferred
