Role
Design and build the database for a system that manages information across multiple ISO standards. You will receive the business requirements and work with us to turn them into a reliable, secure, and maintainable database.
Responsibilities
Review requirements and identify the data, relationships, and workflows the database must support.
Design tables, keys, relationships, indexes, and data constraints.
Create database scripts and migrations, and document the schema.
Build queries, views, stored procedures, or functions where appropriate.
Plan how the database will support users, auditors, audits, evidence, findings, corrective actions, and revision history.
Recommend how application roles and permissions should be represented in the database.
Support backup, recovery, performance, and data-integrity planning.
Work with us to clarify requirements and review the design before implementation.
Qualifications
3 to 6 years of database development experience.
Robust experience with at least one relational database, such as PostgreSQL,
MySQL, or Microsoft SQL Server.
Good understanding of relational data modeling, normalization, indexing, transactions, and access control.
Ability to write transparent SQL and maintain database documentation.
Experience working from business requirements and explaining technical decisions clearly.
Preferred
Experience with audit, compliance, quality-management, or document-management systems.
Familiarity with database security, backups, and recovery.
Experience supporting a web application team or handing database designs over to application developers.
Key scope note
This role covers the database design and implementation. A database developer typically does not build the user interface or the complete login screens and application workflows. Ask candidates to design the database so a future application can implement separate user and auditor access.
