We are looking for a hands-on and driven Engineer – Vehicle Assembly & EOL to ensure quality and delivery of vehicles at End of Line operations at our Oragadam plant. The role involves handling manpower for smooth vehicle delivery, managing major rework activities, electrical repairs, ECU diagnostics, and driving continuous improvement through 5S and Kaizen initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
Production & EOL Operations
Achieve daily production targets at End of Line
Achieve vehicle clearance with targeted Straight Pass Ratio (SPR)
Handle major rework activities, electrical repairs, and ECU diagnostics at EOL
Ensure smooth vehicle delivery with minimal dwell time and backlog
Manpower & Shop Floor Management
Handle permanent and temporary employees and Union representatives
Train and guide associates on EOL processes
Optimize utilization of men and equipment for maximum efficiency
Maintain production tools and equipment as per schedule
Ensure 5S standards and discipline on shop floor at all times
Quality & Continuous Improvement
Comprehend quality issues and implement effective countermeasures
Upkeep Quality Management Systems — IATF
Lead and participate in continuous improvement projects
Implement recent techniques and technologies to improve productivity
Drive Kaizen initiatives to enhance productivity, quality, and safety
Safety & Compliance
Ensure compliance with safety standards and practices in all activities
Drive zero accident culture on EOL shop floor
Systems & Reporting
Work with Manufacturing Execution Systems — SAP or MES
Monitor plan vs actual and take corrective actions
Prepare daily production reports and escalate issues to management
Knowledge & Skills Required
Hands-on experience in EOL operations — vehicle clearance, SPR management
Experience in electrical repairs and ECU diagnostics at EOL
Knowledge of major rework activities in vehicle assembly
Experience handling permanent, temporary employees
Familiarity with IATF and shop floor quality systems
Knowledge of 5S and Kaizen methodologies
Exposure to SAP or MES systems on shop floor
Other Abilities
Positive communication and people management skills
Flexible and open to current ideas and technologies
Ability to work under pressure and meet daily production targets
Team player with ability to lead and motivate workforce.
