Job Summary

Responsible for independently designing and developing Special Purpose Machines (SPMs), automation systems, fixtures, and customized machinery as per customer and project requirements.

Key Responsibilities
Develop machine concepts and complete SPM mechanical designs.
Prepare 3D models, 2D drawings, assemblies, layouts, and BOMs.
Perform design calculations and select suitable mechanical components.
Design mechanisms, fixtures, tooling, pneumatic systems, and material-handling arrangements.
Apply GD&T;, tolerances, fits, and engineering standards.
Coordinate with production, purchase, electrical, and vendors for design execution.
Review drawings for manufacturability, assembly, safety, and cost optimization.
Support machine assembly, trials, commissioning, and troubleshooting.
Make design modifications based on machine performance and customer feedback.
Ensure timely release of drawings and engineering documents.




Guide junior engineers/designers on technical design activities.
Identify opportunities for design standardization and cost reduction.

Required Skills
Solid hands-on experience in SPM Automation Machine Design.
Proficiency in SolidWorks/ Creo/ Solid edge
Positive knowledge of machine mechanisms, pneumatics, bearings, shafts, gearboxes, linear guides, and motors.
Knowledge of machining, fabrication, welding, and assembly processes.
Valuable understanding of GD&T; and engineering drawings.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Ability to independently handle design projects from concept to commissioning.
