The US Accounting and Tax Professional is a full-time, on-site role at our Pune office. You will prepare and review US federal and state returns for individuals, businesses and CPA firm clients, handle cross-border filings, and manage bookkeeping engagements end to end. You will work directly with US clients and mentor junior team members.

Key Responsibilities
Prepare and review US individual and business returns: Forms 1040, 1120, 1120-S, 1065 and related schedules, with K-1s
Prepare international information returns: Forms 5471, 5472, 8858, 8865, FBAR (FinCEN 114) and Form 8938
Handle multi-state income tax filings, extensions, estimated tax computations and amended returns
Manage bookkeeping in QuickBooks Online and Xero: bank and credit card reconciliations, month-end close, and financial statements
Prepare workpapers that tie back to source documents, and clear reviewer comments promptly
Draft responses to IRS and state notices, and support penalty abatement requests
Communicate with US clients and CPA firm partners by email and call: request documents, explain positions and meet deadlines
Review work of junior staff,



and help train them on US tax concepts and firm processes

Qualifications
3–6 years of hands-on US tax experience, preferably in a US CPA firm, a Big 4 firm or a US outsourcing firm

CA, CPA, EA, CMA (US), or a Master's in Accounting or Finance. Candidates who have cleared or are pursuing the EA or CPA are preferred
Working knowledge of US individual and corporate taxation; exposure to partnerships and international forms is a robust plus
Experience with professional tax software (UltraTax, CCH Axcess, Lacerte, Drake or similar) and QuickBooks Online
Strong Excel skills and the ability to build clean, easy-to-review workpapers
Explicit written and spoken English for direct client communication
Willingness to work extended hours during US filing deadlines (April, September and October)
