About Crossbar Labs

Crossbar Labs records first person video of skilled work, such as cooks, warehouse teams, factory workers and craftspeople, and turns it into training data for AI and robotics companies. We have live projects running and are now building out our Pune operation.

The role

You’ll be our first engineering hire on the capture side, and you’ll own everything that happens on the ground in Pune. Today the founders run this themselves. Your job is to take it over and make it run without us.

You’ll start hands on: at sites, setting up capture rigs, briefing workers and running daily uploads yourself. Then you’ll turn that into a system, with better rigs, tighter processes and a field team that can run many sites at once.

What you’ll do

- Run capture across multiple sites in Pune: restaurants, kitchens, warehouses, workshops and factory floors
- Set up, configure and troubleshoot head mounted capture devices, and brief the workers who wear them during their normal shifts
- Own the daily footage pipeline: collection, upload and an accurate delivery log
- Enforce capture standards on site: lighting, camera angles, framing, safety gear, privacy rules and consent paperwork
- Debug quality at the source. If a site’s footage keeps getting rejected, find the root cause and fix it.
- Own the device fleet:

charging, tracking, repairs, and improving mounts and rigs so they hold up in real work environments
- Find and onboard new partner sites as we expand
- Maintain accurate hours data for worker and partner payouts
- Write the SOPs and checklists, then hire and train field executives to run them
- Who you are
- Engineering degree (mechanical, electronics, production or similar) with 1 to 4 years of hands on work in hardware, manufacturing, field engineering, robotics or plant operations
- You like solving real problems in the physical world, not just on a screen
- Comfortable with cameras, phones and devices. You figure out new hardware rapid.
- Strong in Google Sheets; you track everything
- Fluent in Marathi and Hindi, and clear in written English
- Pune based, with your own transport, and happy to be on site most days
- An owner. You spot problems early and fix them without being chased.
- Bonus: experience with data collection, annotation, robotics or an early stage startup.
- What we offer
- ₹6 to 8.5 LPA fixed, plus performance bonus
- 6 day work week
- Travel reimbursement
- Direct work with the founders from day one
- A front row seat to how physical AI and robotics companies build their training data
- A real path to leading capture operations as we grow across projects and cities
