About the Role

ZEAL CRE SERVICES is seeking a detail-oriented Lease Abstractor with 2 years of experience to join our dynamic CRE team. The Lease Abstractor will play a critical role in supporting portfolio management by extracting, compiling, and organizing key lease terms from complex commercial lease documents. This role requires strong analytical skills, meticulous attention to detail, and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.

What You'll Do

- Read and interpret commercial lease documents (net, gross, modified gross, and base occupancy leases) to identify and extract essential terms.

- Prepare accurate lease abstracts that summarize critical details such as rent, term, renewal options, concessions, escalations, operating expenses, CAM charges, insurance, maintenance responsibilities, and special provisions.

- Maintain a high level of data integrity by double-checking abstracts against source documents and updating abstracts as amendments or addenda are received.

- Organize and index lease abstracts in the repository for easy retrieval by internal teams (acquisitions, property management, finance, and legal).

-Partner with property managers, attorneys, and analysts to clarify ambiguous terms and ensure consistency across portfolios.

- Produce regular reports on portfolio metrics, lease expirations, and critical dates to support risk assessment and cash flow forecasting.

- Identify inconsistencies or missing information and communicate findings to the appropriate stakeholders for resolution.

- Adhere to company standards for document naming, formatting, and data security.

What We’re Looking For

- Minimum of 2 years of experience as a lease abstractor or in a closely related CRE lease data role.

- Strong knowledge of commercial lease terminology, financial terms, and typical lease structures.

- Demonstrated ability to read and interpret leases and amendments accurately.





- Exceptional attention to detail and a methodical, organized approach to data extraction and record-keeping.

- Proficiency with lease management systems, data entry, and standard office software (MS Excel, Word, and document management tools).

- Excellent written and verbal communication skills; able to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.

- Ability to manage multiple tasks, prioritize workload, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

- A proactive problem-solver who can flag issues and propose practical solutions.

Qualifications

- Bachelor’s degree in Real Estate, Business, Finance, or a related field preferred (or equivalent qualified experience).

- Experience with commercially leased real estate portfolios and renewals is highly desirable.

- Familiarity with common lease types and related financial terms (NNN, CAM, operating expenses, base rent adjustments).
