Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Lead Site Reliability Engineer (Lead SRE) with a strong background in cloud infrastructure, Kubernetes, software development, and DevOps engineering. The ideal candidate will have prior development experience and hands-on expertise in building, deploying, maintaining, and optimizing scalable, highly available applications and cloud environments.

The candidate should be comfortable working independently while providing technical leadership across site reliability, automation, infrastructure management, performance engineering, and application observability.

Key Responsibilities

- Lead site reliability engineering initiatives and ensure the availability, scalability, performance, and reliability of production applications.
- Design, implement, and maintain cloud infrastructure using AWS and/or Microsoft Azure.
- Manage and optimize Kubernetes environments, including cluster operations, deployments, scaling, load balancing, and high availability.
- Apply software development experience to troubleshoot application-level issues and improve application reliability.
- Work on WordPress-based websites, including development, deployment, infrastructure configuration, migration, and performance optimization.
- Develop and maintain CI/CD pipelines and infrastructure automation using tools such as Jenkins, Terraform, Ansible, Puppet, or Chef.
- Implement monitoring, logging, alerting,



and observability solutions using tools such as Dynatrace, New Relic, Prometheus, Grafana, Sumo Logic, or similar platforms.
- Troubleshoot production incidents, perform root cause analysis, and implement preventive measures.
- Identify and resolve infrastructure, networking, application performance, and availability issues.
- Collaborate with development and infrastructure teams to improve deployment processes, operational efficiency, and system resilience.
- Participate in a weekend on-call rotation for Priority 1 (P1) incidents.

Required Skills And Qualifications

- Strong experience in Site Reliability Engineering (SRE), Cloud Engineering, DevOps, or a related technical discipline.
- Proven experience in a Lead, Architect, or senior technical leadership capacity.
- Strong hands-on knowledge of Kubernetes and container orchestration.
- Practical experience with AWS and/or Microsoft Azure cloud platforms.
- Previous experience as a Software Developer/Engineer, followed by a transition into Cloud, DevOps, or SRE engineering.
- Hands-on experience with WordPress development and/or WordPress application infrastructure.
- Strong understanding of networking, load balancing, high availability, scalability, and production troubleshooting.




- Experience with one or more of the following areas:
- Infrastructure automation using Ansible, Puppet, Chef, Terraform, or similar tools.
- CI/CD pipeline automation using Jenkins or comparable tools.
- Application performance engineering and optimization.
- Monitoring and observability using Dynatrace, New Relic, Sumo Logic, Prometheus, Grafana, or similar tools.

- Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, and independent working skills.

Work Schedule and On-Call Requirements
- Fully remote prospect for candidates based in India.
- Working hours will be either 9:00 AM 6:00 PM IST or 11:00 AM 8:00 PM IST.
- Participation in a weekend on-call rotation is required for P1 incidents.
- If weekend support exceeds five hours, a non-billable day off will be provided during the following week.

Interview Process
- Virtual interview rounds will be conducted initially.
- The final interview, following the virtual rounds, must be attended in person at an Apex office.

Preferred Candidate Profile Candidates with experience in enterprise or product-based organizations are preferred. Candidates from consulting organizations should clearly specify the client names and projects they have supported. Please Note: This is a senior-level opportunity requiring both technical leadership and hands-on engineering capabilities. Candidates should be comfortable independently managing application and infrastructure reliability.
