You are the architect of DigitalPaani's story.
We're solving one of the world's most urgent crises: water scarcity and pollution affect billions. Most people don't know we exist. Most don't know a solution is here. Your job is to change that.
This is not a traditional marketing role. You're a creative visionary + operator who will build our presence from nothing into something the world can't ignore. You'll shape how we show up everywhere—digital, events, partnerships, conversations with CXOs, collaborations with thought leaders, global stages.
Who we're looking for:
You've built brands from zero. You've worked at a startup early enough to create the narrative and visual language from scratch. You've launched 5+ campaigns that moved metrics or generated real buzz.
You've led creative teams and shipped polished work under pressure. You're equally comfortable in mission-driven spaces or B2B environments where you understand how to sell value to decision-makers. You're scrappy, resourceful, and systematic.
And crucially, you believe solving water is worth your best work.
What you'll do:
● Craft our narrative. Define who we are, what we stand for, and why the world should listen.
● Create campaigns that break through. Conceive and execute campaigns so compelling that people can't scroll past them—on social, at events, in partnerships.
● Master all surfaces. LinkedIn thought leadership, viral moments, beautifully designed events, partnerships with influencers and thought leaders, CXO conversations, global speaking slots. You own all of it.
● Design our visual language. You don't just direct—you create mockups, concepts, and visual direction so clear it cuts through clutter. You work with a talented designer but can bring the vision to life yourself.
● Build relationships that amplify. Connect with influencers, thought leaders, nonprofits, corporates. You're building partnerships, not asking for favors.
● Lead and build. Hire and mentor a creative team. Set standards, give direction, build a culture where great work happens.
● Execute with scrappy intensity and rigor. Move fast with limited resources. Systematize so it scales.
WHY THIS MATTERS
You'll work alongside a world-class team with deep expertise from Stanford, IIT Delhi, and MIT. We're not guessing—we're engineering water infrastructure powered by AI, deployed across nearly 100 sites in India, with global ambitions. This is a mission-critical role where you'll have direct access to leadership, real autonomy, and the chance to build something historically significant.
The reality:
This starts from zero. Minimal existing infrastructure.
You'll wear multiple hats—sketch mockups and lead strategy and pitch executives and troubleshoot events. You need startup DNA: you've been where things don't exist yet, you know how to be resourceful and build in public. And you need mission-first conviction—we're hiring you because you believe solving water is worth your time and talent. If that excites you, this is your role.
MUST-HAVE SKILLS & EXPERIENCE
Non-negotiable. Candidate must demonstrate all of these.
1. Has built a brand from scratch at a startup or early-stage scaleup. Did not inherit an established brand. Created the narrative, visual identity, and positioning from zero. Understands what it takes to establish something when it doesn't exist yet.
- Has led a creative team (minimum 1–3 people). Managed designers, writers, or videographers. Can give transparent creative direction, critique work constructively, and build team culture. Track record of getting great work out of creative people.
- Has launched 5+ campaigns that moved metrics or generated real traction. Not internal projects. Real campaigns with measurable results (leads, brand lift, reach, conversions, engagement). Can demonstrate the full campaign lifecycle from concept to execution.
- Writes excellent copy across multiple formats. Demonstrated skill writing social posts, long-form articles, video scripts, email campaigns, and landing pages. Can adapt voice and tone for different platforms, audiences, and stakeholder levels. Not a specialist in one format only.
- Can create visual concepts and mockups independently. Can sketch ideas, create mockups in Figma or Adobe, and communicate visual direction clearly to designers. Demonstrates understanding of composition, color, hierarchy, and visual language. Can execute visual concepts, not just conceive them.
- Understands how to reach people at scale. Deep knowledge of social platform dynamics (algorithm, distribution, engagement drivers). Has thought strategically about platform selection for different goals. Understands what drives virality and can articulate distribution strategy.
- Has operated with limited resources and constraints. Proven ability to deliver results with tight budgets, small teams, or constrained timelines.
Scrappy problem-solver who moves without waiting for perfect conditions or unlimited resources.
- Demonstrates genuine passion for mission-driven work. Has actively chosen to work on problems related to climate, water, environmental impact, or social good. Not motivated primarily by title or compensation—motivated by mission. Can articulate why this kind of work matters to them.
- Can pitch and sell creative vision. Comfortable presenting ideas to leadership and stakeholders. Can defend creative choices and convince decision-makers to support ideas. Has experience in senior stakeholder conversations.
- Has startup operating experience. Has worked in fast-moving environments with multiple roles, constrained resources, and high ambition. Comfortable with ambiguity and can prioritize effectively under pressure. Understands startup rhythm and culture.
