Position Summary

Lead mechanical design and development of HV battery packs for EVs and energy storage systems: structural and thermal design, architecture, child part development, material selection, cost optimization, virtual validation and manufacturability, from concept to SOP. The role reports to the Lead Battery Pack R&D.;

Experience framing: automotive mechanical design and product development, with a core portion in EV battery pack, automotive structures or powertrain products, and experience leading a design team.

5. Roles and Responsibilities





- Lead and manage the Mechanical Design team; define design standards and review methods; plan resources and manage performance.
- Drive concept-to-SOP mechanical development; support project planning, milestones and risk mitigation.
- Lead structural and thermal design of complete HV battery packs; define architecture, packaging and mechanical integration.
- Design enclosures, trays, covers, cooling plates, brackets, busbars, structural members and sealing solutions.
- Ensure thermal, vibration, durability, ingress protection and crashworthiness compliance.
- Lead development of all child parts (sheet metal, busbars, cooling plates, gaskets, seals, connectors, fasteners); work with suppliers on manufacturability and quality; drive engineering changes, drawing release and BOM management.
- Review 3D CAD models and drawings; support structural, fatigue and durability analysis in Ansys; correlate simulation with test.
- Drive DFM and DFA, prototype builds, pilot production and SOP readiness.
- Drive material selection, VAVE and cost reduction.
- Support DVP&R;, validation failure analysis and corrective actions; apply APQP, DFMEA and GD&T.;

Coordinate with Battery Systems, BMS, Validation, Manufacturing, Quality, Procurement, Vehicle Integration and suppliers.
