THE ROLE

We are looking for a Junior Makeup & Grooming Artist who can provide simple, natural and camera-friendly makeup and grooming support for our shoots.

This is NOT a premium fashion, bridal or celebrity makeup position.

We are looking for someone who understands that for most of our shoots, good basic grooming and a clean, natural camera appearance are more important than heavy makeup.

A simple touch-up can make a significant difference on camera.

The ideal candidate should be able to make a person look:

Fresh Presentable Natural Well-groomed Camera-ready without making them look heavily made up.

YOUR MAIN RESPONSIBILITY

Before and during shoots, you will help presenters, interview guests, anchors, artists and other on-camera participants look neat and camera-ready.

Your work may include

- Basic makeup
- Face preparation
- Foundation/BB cream application where appropriate
- Concealer
- Basic powder
- Natural blush
- Simple eye makeup
- Lip colour
- Basic eyebrow grooming
- Shine/oil control
- Minor complexion correction
- Hair grooming/touch-up
- Quick makeup corrections between takes
- Maintaining a consistent appearance during long shoots

The objective is: “Look good on camera without looking over-made-up.”MAKEUP STYLE WE PREFER

Our preferred style is

Natural + Clean + Simple + Camera-Friendly

We generally do NOT need:

- Heavy bridal makeup
- Dramatic fashion makeup
- Elaborate celebrity makeup
- Complex hairstyling
- High-fashion looks

unless a particular production specifically requires it. You should understand how lighting and cameras affect the appearance of skin, shine, complexion and makeup.

BASIC GROOMING

Depending on the shoot and individual requirement, you may also assist with:

- Hair touch-ups
- Flyaway hair control
- Basic hairstyle correction
- Face/skin preparation
- Removing excess shine
- Basic grooming for male presenters
- Basic grooming for female presenters
- Beard/moustache grooming support where appropriate
- Ensuring the presenter looks consistent between takes

You are not expected to be a professional hairstylist. Basic practical grooming ability is sufficient.

GUEST & INTERVIEW SUPPORT

Our productions may involve people from very different backgrounds.

Some guests may have significant camera experience.

Others may have never appeared on camera before.

You should therefore be comfortable politely helping guests with basic grooming without making them uncomfortable.

QUICK TOUCH-UPS DURING SHOOT





Long shoots can create

- Facial shine
- Sweating
- Makeup fading
- Hair movement
- Lip colour fading
- Uneven appearance

You should monitor the presenter/guest and provide quick touch-ups when necessary. You should also coordinate with the:

Director / Producer / Camera Team when appearance needs to be corrected because of lighting or camera requirements.

HYGIENE & MAKEUP KIT MANAGEMENT

This is extremely important.

You must maintain good hygiene while working with multiple people.

Responsibilities include

- Clean brushes and tools
- Proper sanitisation
- Clean sponges/applicators
- Safe product handling
- Avoiding cross-contamination
- Maintaining an organised makeup kit
- Checking product condition
- Keeping basic supplies ready
- Informing production when supplies need replacement

Personal hygiene and professional cleanliness are essential for this position.

BASIC MAKEUP KIT

You should either have or be willing to gradually build a practical basic professional kit containing items such as:

- Foundation/BB cream
- Concealer
- Compact/translucent powder
- Basic blush
- Neutral eyeshadow
- Eyeliner
- Mascara
- Lip colours
- Makeup brushes
- Sponges
- Setting products
- Makeup remover
- Basic skincare/prep products
- Hair grooming products
- Hygiene/sanitisation supplies

The company may provide or reimburse selected production-required consumables depending on the shoot. WORKING WITH LIGHTING & CAMERA

You do not need to be a cinematographer.

However, you should understand basic concepts such as:

- Why facial shine becomes visible under lights
- Why excessive foundation can look unnatural
- Why makeup can appear different on camera
- How to maintain a natural complexion
- How lighting affects skin tone
- Why consistency between takes matters

Basic understanding of photography/video makeup will be an advantage. AI / DIGITAL / OTT ENVIRONMENT

Our productions will use modern digital production workflows.

- Expect every shoot to involve elaborate makeup

At the same time, productions requiring specialised looks may use senior/specialist artists separately.
