Job Overview

We are looking for an IBM i / AS400 RPG Developer with strong hands-on development experience to build, maintain and modernize billing applications. The role involves RPG programming, billing enhancements, data validation and integration with modern interfaces and external systems.

Candidates must have substantial application development experience. Experience limited to production support will not meet the requirements of this role.

Key Responsibilities

- Develop, maintain, debug and enhance applications on IBM i (AS/400/iSeries) platforms using RPG/400, RPG III, RPG IV, RPGLE and RPG Free-format.
- Implement billing enhancements involving rate changes, taxation, usage calculations, payments and adjustments.
- Process and validate data from multiple source systems to ensure accurate customer billing.
- Generate wholesale customer bills in accordance with Billing Output Specifications (BOS).
- Work with CL/CLLE, DDS, DB2/400 and embedded SQL.
- Debug and troubleshoot interactive and batch jobs.




- Integrate legacy billing applications with web-based interfaces and external systems.
- Support end-to-end billing-system modernization and migration, including ICD data mapping and extraction.
- Develop APIs and support Electronic Data Interchange (EDI) integrations.
- Maintain technical documentation covering application changes, integrations and data flows.

Required Skills and Experience

- Strong hands-on development experience in RPG/400, RPG III, RPG IV, RPGLE and RPG Free-format.
- Practical experience with CL/CLLE, DDS, DB2/400 and embedded SQL.
- Strong debugging and problem-solving skills across interactive and batch processing.
- Experience with billing applications and calculations involving rates, taxation, usage, payments and adjustments.
- Ability to validate data, investigate discrepancies and ensure billing accuracy.
- Experience integrating IBM i applications with external systems, APIs and web-based interfaces.
- Understanding of application modernization, data mapping, extraction and migration.
- Ability to prepare explicit technical documentation and collaborate with technical and business teams.

Pay: ₹90,000.00 - ₹120,000.00 per month
