We are seeking an experienced agricultural leader to head a large-scale greenfield agricultural project in Lubumbashi, DRC. The project involves approximately 11,000+ hectares of acquired land and is currently at the initial planning and development stage.

The successful candidate will be responsible for assessing the project's requirements, developing the agricultural business plan, establishing operations, and leading the organisation towards commercially sustainable growth.

Key Responsibilities

- Lead the planning, development and establishment of large-scale agricultural operations.
- Assess land potential, infrastructure requirements and operational feasibility in coordination with relevant technical experts.
- Oversee soil testing and evaluate climatic conditions, water availability and other factors before recommending suitable crops.
- Develop the overall agricultural strategy, business plan, operating model and implementation roadmap.
- Prepare and manage budgets, financial forecasts, profit and loss (P&L;), operating costs and capital expenditure.
- Establish operational systems, processes, performance indicators and cost-control mechanisms.
- Lead cross-functional activities, including procurement, logistics, engineering, infrastructure, human resources and administration.
- Build and lead the management team and establish effective organisational structures.
- Monitor operational performance, productivity, financial results and business risks.




- Ensure compliance with applicable laws, regulations, environmental requirements and relevant agricultural standards.

Candidate Requirements
- 10–15+ years of relevant experience in agriculture or agribusiness, including senior leadership responsibilities.
- Demonstrated hands-on experience managing agricultural operations across 10,000 hectares or more.
- Robust knowledge of end-to-end agricultural operations and large-scale farm management.
- Proven expertise in financial management, budgeting, P&L;, business planning and cost control.
- Experience in project establishment, operational planning and cross-functional leadership.
- Ability to assess land potential and guide crop selection based on technical studies and commercial feasibility.
- Strong strategic planning, decision-making, team-building and stakeholder-management skills.
- Experience in establishing greenfield agricultural projects will be an advantage.
