Company Description Ecomine is a DPIIT-recognized deep-tech startup focused on transforming mineral exploration in India through advanced AI/ML technologies. Its flagship platform, Spectropy, integrates hyperspectral satellite imagery, drill-core analysis, and multiple geophysical datasets into a unified subsurface intelligence layer. Using spectral unmixing, geophysical inversion, and terrain-specific deep-learning models, Spectropy generates high-confidence mineral prospectivity maps from surface to drill depth.
By replacing fragmented and siloed exploration workflows with a data-driven, physics-informed approach, Ecomine helps geoscientists and exploration teams know exactly where to drill and why. The company offers a cutting-edge environment for professionals interested in applying quantitative skills to real-world earth resource challenges.
Role Description This is a full-time remote role for a Geo Statistician.
The Geo
Statistician will develop and apply statistical and mathematical models to geospatial, hyperspectral, and geophysical datasets used within the Spectropy platform. Day-to-day tasks include cleaning and structuring large spatial datasets, implementing and validating statistical modeling workflows, performing exploratory data analysis, and collaborating with data scientists and geoscientists to refine mineral prospectivity outputs.
The role also involves building and testing prediction algorithms, documenting methods and results, and contributing to continuous improvement of the AI/ML pipelines.
The Geo
Statistician will work closely with product and engineering teams to ensure that statistical insights are robust, interpretable, and actionable for end users.
