About the Role

We’re looking for engineers who enjoy building products—not just implementing features.

As part of the Platform Engineering team, you’ll help shape the future of Avni. You’ll work across backend, frontend, mobile and cloud infrastructure, solving problems ranging from offline data synchronisation and configurable workflows to deployment automation, AI-powered capabilities and production reliability.

This is a role with significant ownership. You’ll think beyond individual features and contribute to the long-term evolution of the platform while collaborating closely with product managers, implementation teams and customers.

What You’ll Own





Product Engineering

- Design and develop new capabilities for the Avni platform.
- Build scalable, maintainable and well-tested software.
- Improve platform performance, reliability and user experience.
- Participate in technical design discussions and architecture decisions.
- Contribute to Avni’s open-source ecosystem.

Platform Engineering

- Improve deployment automation and developer productivity.
- Enhance CI/CD pipelines and cloud infrastructure.
- Improve observability, monitoring and operational reliability.
- Build internal tooling that improves engineering efficiency.

Solving Real-World Problems

- Design reusable platform capabilities based on real-world programme needs.
- Work with implementation teams to solve technically challenging customer requirements.
- Investigate complex production issues and improve the platform to prevent similar issues in the future.

Continuous Learning

- Explore emerging technologies and AI capabilities that can improve the platform.
- Share knowledge through code reviews, design discussions and mentoring.

What You’ll Bring

Must Have

- Robust software engineering fundamentals.
- Good knowledge of Java or Node.js.
- Experience building REST APIs.
- Strong understanding of SQL and relational databases.
- Ability to independently design, build and debug production software.
- Passion for writing clean, maintainable and well-tested code.

Nice to Have

- React or React Native.
- Experience with AWS or other cloud platforms.
- Experience with Docker and CI/CD.
- Android development experience.
- Contributions to open-source projects.

Experience & Qualification

- 3–8 years of professional software engineering experience.
