About Meclusions Studio

Meclusions Studio is developing a digital content and streaming platform focused on Sanatana, Hindu civilisation, Indian history, culture, traditions and knowledge through high-quality original storytelling.

Our planned content ecosystem includes documentaries, interviews, Travel programmes, 2D/3D animation, AI-assisted productions, short-form vertical videos and original OTT shows.

We are building our technology foundation with a lean, capable in-house team. Our goal is to use proven technologies and existing streaming infrastructure wherever practical, while retaining control over our product, source code, data and long-term development.

About the Role

We are looking for a hands-on Full-Stack Product Engineer / Technical Lead to design and develop the core technology behind our OTT platform.

You will be responsible for the backend architecture, APIs, databases, user accounts, content management, integrations and technical quality of the overall product.

You will work closely with our mobile/TV application developer and web platform engineer to build a connected ecosystem rather than several disconnected applications.

This is a practical product-development role, not just a supervisory position. You should be comfortable writing code, solving problems, making architectural decisions and guiding other developers.

Key Responsibilities1. OTT Backend & Architecture

- Design and develop a secure, scalable and maintainable backend.
- Build and maintain APIs used by our website, mobile applications and TV applications.
- Develop user authentication, profiles, permissions and account management.
- Design the content catalogue, categories, metadata, search and playlists.
- Implement watch history, continue-watching functionality and user entitlements.
- Plan for future subscriptions, premium content and access-control requirements.

1. Database & Content Management

- Design and maintain database structures.
- Develop or integrate a content-management/admin dashboard.
- Enable authorised team members to manage episodes, thumbnails, descriptions, categories, languages and publishing status.
- Maintain data integrity, access permissions and backup procedures.
- Ensure the platform can support both long-form programmes and short-form vertical videos.

1. Video Streaming Integration

- Integrate an established video hosting, encoding and delivery provider.
- Work with video playback APIs, streaming URLs, content metadata and access controls.
- Understand HLS/DASH streaming concepts, adaptive bitrate playback and CDN delivery.
- Implement appropriate security measures for protected content.
- Coordinate with the mobile/TV developer to ensure reliable playback across devices.

Important:



We intend to leverage existing video infrastructure rather than build an entire transcoding and CDN system from scratch.

1. Website & Application Integration

- Develop and maintain backend services for the website and applications.
- Ensure consistent login, content data and user experience across platforms.
- Support integration with the mobile developer's Android/iOS and relevant TV applications.
- Work with payment/subscription integrations when required.
- Help establish analytics, crash reporting and product-performance monitoring.

1. Cloud, Deployment & Security

- Manage or oversee cloud hosting and deployment architecture.
- Set up development, testing and production environments.
- Use Git and a structured code-review process.
- Establish automated deployment where practical.
- Maintain logs, monitoring, backups and recovery procedures.
- Follow secure coding practices and protect user data.
- Document infrastructure, configurations and deployment procedures.

1. Vertical Video & Future Features

- Design backend support for a swipe-based vertical video feed.
- Support video categorisation, engagement tracking and viewing history.
- Prepare the architecture for future recommendations and personalisation.
- Ensure the system can evolve without unnecessary rebuilding.

1. Technical Leadership

- Work with a small in-house development team.
- Review code and establish practical engineering standards.
- Break requirements into achievable milestones.
- Estimate effort, identify technical risks and recommend cost-effective solutions.
- Coordinate external specialists when a particular platform requires expertise outside the core team.
- Maintain technical documentation so the company is not dependent on one individual's undocumented knowledge.

Required Skills
- Strong experience in backend or full-stack development.
- Practical experience designing and consuming REST APIs.
- Experience with databases such as PostgreSQL, MySQL or equivalent.
- Knowledge of authentication, authorisation and secure application design.
- Experience with Git and collaborative development.
- Understanding of cloud hosting, deployment and application monitoring.
- Ability to debug production issues.
- Positive communication and documentation skills.
- Ability to work independently and take ownership of deliverables.

Preferred Skills Experience with one or more of the following:

- Node.js/TypeScript, Python, PHP/Laravel or another suitable backend stack.
- React, Next.js or equivalent frontend technologies.
- AWS, Google Cloud, Azure or comparable hosting infrastructure.
- Docker and CI/CD.
- Video streaming APIs and CDN integrations.
- HLS/DASH playback concepts.
- OTT, video-on-demand,



subscription or media applications.
- Payment gateways and subscription billing.
- Analytics and event tracking.
- AI APIs and automation integrations.

We do not require every technology listed above. Strong fundamentals and evidence of successfully delivered products are more important than familiarity with a long list of tools.

Candidate Profile

We are looking for someone who:
- Has built and maintained real software products.
- Can make sensible architecture decisions without overengineering.
- Understands the difference between a working prototype and a production-ready application.
- Can balance development speed, quality, security and cost.
- Is comfortable working in a small, growing company.
- Can explain technical concepts clearly to non-technical management.
- Values documentation, maintainability and company ownership of code.

What This Role Is Not This is not a position for someone who only manages developers without technical involvement.

We are looking for a hands-on engineer who can build the core system and help the team deliver it.

You will not be expected to personally build every mobile and TV application, design every screen, repair all office computers or develop a proprietary streaming engine. Responsibilities will be shared across the technical team and external specialists where appropriate.
