Job Summary

We are looking for a qualified and motivated Formulation Development Scientist / Executive to join our Research & Development team in the pharmaceutical industry. The candidate will be responsible for developing, optimizing, troubleshooting, and scaling up oral solid dosage formulations, including tablets, capsules, granules, and powders for oral suspension.

The role involves formulation development, stability studies, technology transfer, process validation, preparation of technical documentation, and cross-functional coordination to ensure timely development and commercialization of pharmaceutical products in compliance with applicable quality and regulatory requirements.

Key Responsibilities

- Review New Product Proposals (NPPs) and plan formulation development activities.
- Develop and optimize formulations for tablets, capsules, granules, and powders for oral suspension.
- Plan and execute laboratory, pilot, stability, trial, and scale-up batches.
- Prepare and review Master Formula Records (MFRs), Product Development Reports (PDRs), stability protocols, SOPs, STPs, specifications, and technology transfer protocols.
- Perform formulation and process optimization, troubleshooting, and problem-solving at the shop floor.
- Investigate formulation and product failures in coordination with Quality Assurance (QA) and recommend appropriate corrective and preventive actions.




- Coordinate raw material and packaging material requirements for development batches.
- Support scale-up activities, process validation, and monitoring of validation batches.
- Coordinate stability studies with Analytical Development Laboratory (ADL)/Quality Control (QC) and evaluate stability data.
- Provide technical support to Production, QA, QC/ADL, Regulatory Affairs, Marketing, and Purchase departments.
- Coordinate technology transfer activities with internal manufacturing sites and external partners.
- Prepare technical documents and data for regulatory submissions and respond to technical queries.
- Prepare registration samples and coordinate their handover to the concerned departments.
- Ensure laboratory equipment qualification, calibration, and proper laboratory housekeeping.
- Review Batch Manufacturing Records (BMRs), process validation (PV) protocols, and validation reports from the formulation development perspective.
- Train and guide junior scientists/chemists and allocate development activities.
- Assist the Head of Product Development in project planning, progress monitoring, and timely completion of R&D; activities.

Required Qualifications
- B.Pharm / M.Pharm in Pharmaceutics, Pharmaceutical Technology,



or a related discipline.
- Relevant experience in pharmaceutical formulation development, preferably in oral solid dosage forms.
- Sound knowledge of formulation development, process optimization, scale-up, stability studies, and technology transfer.
- Working knowledge of pharmaceutical documentation, GMP requirements, and regulatory guidelines.
- Experience in preparing and reviewing formulation development reports, specifications, protocols, and validation documents.
- Good analytical, troubleshooting, documentation, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to coordinate effectively with cross-functional teams.

Preferred Skills
- Hands-on experience with tablets, capsules, granules, and dry powder for oral suspension.
- Knowledge of process validation, stability studies, and technology transfer.
- Familiarity with GMP documentation and pharmaceutical quality systems.
- Strong communication, teamwork, and project coordination skills.
- Ability to guide junior team members and manage multiple development projects.
