Responsibilities
- Manages effective safety processes for the safety of buildings.
- Maintain the correct operation of fire detection/protection systems.
- Carry out fire drills and educate the residents/tenants regarding fire and rescue operations.
- Supervise fire stock.
- Maintains an awareness of other fire personnel on detail for the purpose of protecting other fire-fighter's lives as necessary.
- Conduct and impart training to the staff and security of the property.
- Carry out the standard tests of existing fire-fighting equipment.
- Prepare fire & safety-related reports, risk assessments, and effective safety strategies.
- Ensure a standard operation protocol of fire & safety services.
- Maintain ongoing communications with OM, Manager-Technical, and other building-related services staff.
- Gain/maintain proficiency with the property's life safety system.
- Maintain and update the Safety Policies and Procedures manual.
- Maintain a working knowledge of all current building fire and life safety code requirements.
- Ensure an effective emergency preparedness plan (i.e., fire, evacuations, human crisis, etc.) is in place.
- Communicate with PM/Tech Manager regarding events, incidents, concerns of Security Team members, recommendations, staffing needs, etc.
- Co-develop with the management staff operating guidelines and practices.
- Establish and update project-specific safety procedures.
Qualifications
- Diploma/Degree in Science.
- Qualified from National Fire Service College with 5-10 years of experience.
- Good knowledge of current fire suppression and fire-fighting techniques, including all related equipment.
- Valuable knowledge of fire records systems, communications equipment and use, fire computer applications, and fire reporting procedures.
- Good knowledge of the principles and practices involved in emergency medical services.
- Ability to use logical and creative thought processes to develop solutions for short-term and long-term safety needs.
- Ability to communicate well with others, both orally and in writing.
- Ability to understand and follow oral and/or written policies, procedures, and instructions.
- Demonstrate integrity and inventiveness in the performance of assigned tasks.
