Financial Tech Analyst — Job Specification

Stellar Fusion is hiring a Financial Tech Analyst in Bengaluru. Finance meets AI — you'll use your modelling knowledge to build financial data infrastructure for investment banks and asset managers.

Role Overview

We turn sell-side analysts' Excel models into structured, AI-ready financial data. We ingest models, map them to a taxonomy, and deliver clean data to clients via MCP (Model Context Protocol) and embedded platforms.

You'll join a team of five in Bengaluru, reporting to the Co-Founder in London. You'll work daily with senior analysts and engineers across both offices.

This is not a traditional finance role. You'll review analyst models, refine data quality, test platform features, write product specs, and use AI tools every day. We figure things out together — when someone finds a problem, the team solves it; when someone learns something new, everyone hears about it.

Responsibilities

- Financial Model Ingestion & Quality Assurance — Review and map sell-side analyst Excel models. Find structural issues, formula errors, and mapping inconsistencies. Every model must be publication-ready before it reaches clients.
- Platform Testing & Bug Identification — Test features and bug fixes across the full platform — not just the happy path. Consider edge cases, unusual inputs, and how analysts actually use the product.
- Product Documentation & Feature Development — Write specs for current features. Prototype solutions using Claude and AI tools. Turn financial expertise into product ideas.
- AI & LLM Integration — Claude and Claude Code are daily tools here — for documentation, debugging, code generation, and accelerating everything. You'll push the boundary of AI applied to financial data.
- Client & Analyst Communication — Onboard sell-side analysts, troubleshoot their models,



and support their use of the platform and MCP. Translate financial context into language developers can act on.
- Collaboration & Knowledge Sharing — Small team, high trust, no passengers. You'll review each other's models, share what you've learned, and catch what others miss. The best people here are the ones who make everyone around them better. We work from our Bengaluru office — being together is how we learn fast and build well.

Requirements

Essential

- You understand how the three financial statements link and can spot when something doesn't reconcile
- Experience building or working with 3-statement financial models in Excel
- Exceptional attention to detail — our clients make investment decisions on this data
- Clear, concise written and verbal communication in English
- Already using Claude, ChatGPT, or similar AI tools daily
- Based in Bengaluru and comfortable working from the office most days — we're a collaborative, in-person team
- Degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field

Preferred

- Experience in equity research, investment banking, or financial data
- Any tech background — CS coursework, coding, or a tech certification
- Experience with GitHub, PRs, or working alongside engineering teams
- Familiarity with Claude Code, APIs, or building prototypes with AI
- Experience with QA testing or product documentation
