Position Overview

Wells Fargo is seeking a talented Senior Software Engineer specializing in the ION OpenLink Endur platform to join our Commodities Technology team within Corporate & Investment Banking. In this role, you will lead the architecture, custom development, upgrades, and platform optimization supporting our front-to-back physical and financial commodity trade lifecycles, covering Natural Gas, Crude Oil, and Power products. You will build and scale reliable technology solutions, ensuring high-performing trade capture, real-time risk calculations, and seamless downstream clearing integrations.

Key Responsibilities

- Design, program, test, and implement robust core customizations within the ION OpenLink Endur environment using Open JVS (Java Valuations Script) and Open Components (Java/.NET).

- Develop, optimize, and maintain complex relational database scripts, schemas, and stored procedures (SQL Server / Oracle) tailored for ETRM data models, market data storage, and transactional curves.

- Architect front-office functional integrations, including real-time trade capture screens, deal modeling tools, and custom booking configurations for complex derivative structures.

- Collaborate with Middle and Back Office teams to support risk management scripts (MtM, P&L; attribution, VaR exposure models), automated billing engines,



and upstream/downstream messaging layers.

- Lead platform upgrades, framework updates, patches, and code environment performance testing to improve processing throughput for peak trading volumes.

- Provide technical leadership, code reviews, and mentorship to junior members of the technology team while upholding up-to-date software development practices (CI/CD pipelines, git, automated unit tests).

Required Qualifications & Skills

- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Management Information Systems, Financial Engineering, or a highly related technical field.

- 5+ years of dedicated software engineering experience developing within the ION OpenLink Endur platform.

- Proven proficiency in Open JVS scripting language and advanced framework extension utilizing Open Components (Java or C#).

- Strong mastery of relational database design, query optimization, and complex querying using SQL.

- Solid operational understanding of energy market fundamentals, trade lifecycle workflows, and Core Risk analytics (Mark-to-Market, Credit risk, and P&L; matching).

- Familiarity with modern software methodologies, Agile delivery workflows, and automated pipeline toolsets (Jenkins, GitHub, Bitbucket).
