● Develop robust Embedded C/C++ using structured, maintainable and modular software architecture.
● Implement state machines, timers, interrupts, GPIO control, peripheral drivers and application logic.
● Develop bare-metal and RTOS-based firmware as required; FreeRTOS experience is desirable.
● Develop and debug I²C, SPI, UART, RS-485/Modbus, CAN, USB and other embedded communication interfaces.
● Implement sensor acquisition, signal processing, actuator control and real-time control logic.
● Develop Wi-Fi/BLE/IoT connectivity and device-to-cloud communication where required.
● Implement OTA firmware updates, configuration updates, boot/recovery mechanisms and safe update strategies.
● Work with Flash, NVS/EEPROM and other non-volatile storage mechanisms.
● Implement reliable data logging, error handling, fault recovery and watchdog mechanisms.
● Optimize firmware for timing, memory usage, reliability and long-term field operation.
● Debug firmware using serial logs, JTAG/SWD, oscilloscopes, logic analyzers and other tools.
Key Responsibilities — Embedded Hardware & PCB Design
● Design embedded hardware and complete PCB assemblies for microcontroller-based products.
● Create schematics and PCB layouts using Altium Designer, KiCad, OrCAD, Eagle or equivalent tools.
● Select MCUs, sensors, power supplies, communication ICs, connectors, drivers, relays, MOSFETs and other components.
● Design power-supply and power-management circuits including regulation, protection, filtering and power sequencing.
● Design digital and analog interfaces including GPIO, ADC, DAC, PWM, UART, SPI, I²C, RS-485, CAN, USB and Ethernet as applicable.
● Design motor/actuator driver circuits, relay interfaces and other control circuitry.
● Perform PCB placement, routing, grounding, power distribution and signal-integrity considerations.
● Consider EMI/EMC, ESD, thermal management, creepage/clearance and electrical protection during PCB design.
● Generate manufacturing outputs including Gerber, drill files, BOM, pick-and-place files and assembly documentation.
● Perform PCB bring-up and hardware validation on prototype boards.
● Debug hardware using oscilloscopes, multimeters, logic analyzers, electronic loads and laboratory equipment.
● Identify and resolve power, communication, noise, signal-integrity, component and thermal issues.
● Work closely with firmware engineers to define hardware-software interfaces and peripheral requirements.
● Support PCB revisions, component substitutions, DFM/DFA improvements and production release.
● Coordinate with PCB manufacturers and assembly vendors during prototype and production builds.
Product Development & System Integration
● Own embedded product development from requirements, architecture and prototype through validation and deployment.
● Create technical specifications, interface documents, test procedures and debugging documentation.
● Perform functional, integration and system-level testing.
● Identify technical risks and propose practical engineering solutions.
● Support production release, field deployment and customer issue resolution.
● Perform root-cause analysis and corrective actions for hardware and firmware failures.
Client Interaction & Technical Discussions
● Participate in technical meetings with customers to understand requirements and project expectations.
● Explain firmware, hardware and system-level technical solutions clearly to customers.
● Support product demonstrations, proof-of-concept development and technical presentations.
● Coordinate with customers during debugging, validation and deployment activities.
● Convert customer requirements into actionable engineering tasks.
Business & Product Development Support
● Support recent-project discussions and technical feasibility studies.
● Assist in preparing technical proposals, architecture concepts, effort estimates and project scope.
● Identify opportunities for product improvements and new embedded solutions.
● Support pre-sales activities through technical demonstrations and proof-of-concepts.
● Work with business-development teams to evaluate technical feasibility of prospective projects.
Required Technical Skills
● Strong programming skills in Embedded C/C++.
● Hands-on experience with ESP32, STM32 or similar microcontrollers.
● Strong understanding of GPIO, interrupts, timers, ADC/DAC, PWM and common serial interfaces.
● Good understanding of state machines and real-time firmware design.
● Hands-on schematic capture and PCB layout/design experience for embedded products.
● Ability to take a PCB from system requirements through schematic, component selection, layout, prototype bring-up and hardware debugging.
● Experience with Wi-Fi/BLE and IoT systems is desirable.
● FreeRTOS/RTOS experience is an advantage.
● Experience with OTA, bootloaders and firmware update mechanisms is an advantage.
● Understanding of Flash memory, NVS/EEPROM and data-integrity mechanisms.
