About the Role

Pharmnova Medical Research is seeking a hands-on IT Infrastructure Support Consultant to establish, configure and maintain our office IT infrastructure and provide ongoing technical support.

The consultant will also collaborate with our IT developers, software testers, data scientists and cloud engineers to support development environments, system connectivity and secure, reliable IT operations.

Key Responsibilities

- IT Infrastructure: Set up and maintain desktops, laptops, printers, operating systems and office IT equipment.
- Networking & Security: Configure and maintain LAN, Wi-Fi, routers, managed switches, firewalls, VPNs and secure remote access.
- Windows Server & Active Directory: Manage on-premises servers, user accounts, permissions, Group Policies and shared resources.
- Server & Backup Management: Monitor server health, storage, backups, recovery and system availability.
- Biometric Systems: Install and maintain biometric attendance devices and access-control systems.
- IT Security: Maintain endpoint protection, security patches, access controls and data protection measures.
- Development Environment Support: Collaborate with developers, testers, data scientists and cloud engineers on system configuration, connectivity, access and troubleshooting.
- Cloud & Remote Access:



Assist with connectivity between local infrastructure and AWS/Azure environments, where required.
- Documentation: Maintain IT asset inventories, network diagrams, configuration records and maintenance logs.
- Vendor Coordination: Coordinate with internet service providers, hardware vendors and other IT service providers.

Mandatory Skills

- Hands-on experience in desktop support and IT infrastructure maintenance.
- Working knowledge of networking, switches, routers and firewalls.
- Experience with Windows Server, Active Directory and user administration.
- Familiarity with on-premises servers, backups and recovery.
- Troubleshooting skills and the ability to work independently.
- Good documentation and communication skills.

Added advantages: Biometric systems, VPNs, virtualization, Microsoft 365, cybersecurity, and AWS/Azure administration.

Engagement Details

- Part-time / freelance consultancy.
- Immediate availability preferred.
- On-site support at our Chennai office as required.
- Hourly rate or visit-based compensation, mutually agreed.
- Opportunity for ongoing infrastructure support.
