- Plan and assign design-team work, priorities, and deadlines.

- Review customer and internal drawings for complete details, materials, dimensions, tolerances, and manufacturing feasibility.

- Oversee BOMs, drawings for dies and tools, casting requirements, tooling trials, and sample development.

- Ensure UID numbers, the UID Master Sheet, and Master Inspection Reports are accurate.

- Coordinate requirements for current gauges, rods, dies, and other development items.

- Check samples against approved drawings and oversee first-piece inspection of recent directly purchased items.

- Control drawing revisions and engineering changes.

- Resolve design-related questions with production, quality, suppliers, and customers; guide the design team’s work.
