Role Description This is a full-time, on-site Design Engineer position within the Bridge & Bearings Division, based in Bhopal.

The Design

Engineer will develop and review designs for bridge bearings, expansion joints, seismic expansion joint systems, and related structural components, ensuring compliance with relevant codes and client specifications. Daily responsibilities include preparing and updating CAD models and detailed drawings, performing design calculations, supporting product optimization, and collaborating with mechanical, civil, and electrical teams for integrated engineering solutions.



The role also involves coordinating with production and quality teams to address design-related issues, assisting in technical documentation, and providing support during installation and commissioning activities.

The Design

Engineer will participate in project meetings, contribute to continuous improvement initiatives, and ensure designs align with safety, reliability, and performance standards.

Qualifications

- Strong foundation in Design Engineering with experience in bridge components, structural bearings, or heavy fabrication products.
- Mechanical Engineering skills relevant to structural components, load analysis, material selection, and design optimization.
- Proficiency in Computer-Aided Design (CAD) tools for 2D drafting and 3D modeling of bridge bearings, expansion joints, and related assemblies.
- Exposure to Electrical Engineering aspects as they relate to integrated systems, control elements, or instrumentation in infrastructure projects.
- Product Design skills for translating functional requirements into manufacturable, cost-effective, and durable solutions.
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Civil, or related Engineering discipline; postgraduate qualifications in structural or design engineering are an advantage.
- Knowledge of relevant national and international standards (e.g., bridge and bearing design codes) and quality assurance practices.
- Ability to interpret technical drawings, specifications, and client requirements, and communicate clearly with cross-functional teams.
- Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and proficiency with MS Office and engineering calculation tools.
