About Meclusions Studio

Meclusions Studio is developing a dedicated OTT streaming platform focused on Sanatana Dharma, Indian civilisation, mythology, history, documentaries, original shows, interviews and culturally rooted storytelling.

We are looking for a skilled Cross-Platform Mobile & Smart TV App Developer to help build an engaging streaming experience across mobile devices and, in phases, Smart TV platforms.

This is an opportunity to join during the product-development stage and contribute directly to the architecture, user experience and launch of a specialised OTT platform.

Job Summary

You will be responsible for developing and maintaining the platform's mobile applications and contributing to its Smart TV application roadmap.

The ideal candidate should have hands-on experience building production-ready applications using Flutter or React Native, integrating video players and streaming APIs, implementing secure user authentication, and working with backend developers.

We value practical development skills, clean code, performance, security and the ability to deliver a reliable product with a lean engineering team.

Key Responsibilities

1. Mobile Application Development

- Develop cross-platform mobile applications for Android and iOS using Flutter or React Native.
- Build essential OTT features, including user registration, login, profiles, home screens, content categories, search, watchlists and viewing history.
- Implement responsive interfaces for smartphones and tablets.
- Optimise application performance, loading times, navigation and playback experience.
- Handle app releases, bug fixes, crash monitoring and ongoing maintenance.

2. OTT Video Streaming Integration

- Integrate Bunny Stream or an equivalent video-streaming infrastructure into the application.
- Implement video playback, playback controls, subtitles where supported, resume watching, and other essential streaming features.
- Work with the backend engineer to implement secure playback authorisation and access restrictions for premium content.
- Support adaptive-bitrate streaming and appropriate video-player behaviour across supported devices.
- Integrate advertising-related functionality where supported by the selected player and ad-serving architecture, including VAST-compatible advertising.
- Troubleshoot buffering, playback errors, device compatibility and streaming performance.

3. Subscription & Payment Integration

- Integrate application interfaces with backend APIs for subscription status and premium-content access.
- Coordinate with the backend developer on Razorpay or Stripe integration, as applicable to the relevant platform and payment policies.
- Support subscription-related screens, payment status displays and account management.
- Ensure that premium access is determined by the trusted backend rather than by client-side checks alone.
- Follow applicable Google Play and Apple App Store payment and digital-content policies.

4. Smart TV Application Development





- Contribute to the phased expansion of the OTT platform onto Smart TV devices.
- Assess and implement suitable technologies for supported platforms, potentially including Android TV / Google TV and other agreed Smart TV ecosystems.
- Build TV-friendly interfaces with remote-control navigation, readable layouts, content browsing and playback controls.
- Ensure compatibility with the selected video player and streaming infrastructure.
- Identify when a platform requires a dedicated implementation or specialist support instead of forcing a single codebase across incompatible devices.

5. API Integration & Team Collaboration

- Work closely with the OTT Backend & API Integration Engineer and Frontend / Web Platform Engineer.
- Integrate REST APIs and handle JSON responses, authentication, error states and loading states.
- Coordinate on API contracts, user sessions, playback authorisation and subscription entitlements.
- Maintain Git repositories, participate in code reviews and follow agreed development standards.
- Document technical decisions, setup instructions, dependencies and release procedures.

6. Testing, Security & Maintenance

- Test applications across relevant screen sizes, operating-system versions and supported devices.
- Resolve crashes, performance issues and playback defects.
- Follow secure coding practices and avoid embedding secret API keys or privileged credentials in client applications.
- Assist with app-store submissions, release management and production troubleshooting.
- Maintain readable, reusable and well-documented code.

Required Technical Skills
- 3–6 years of relevant professional application-development experience.
- Strong hands-on expertise in Flutter or React Native.
- Experience developing and releasing at least one production-ready Android or iOS application.
- Good knowledge of REST APIs, JSON, authentication flows and asynchronous programming.
- Experience integrating third-party SDKs, video players or media-related APIs.
- Familiarity with Git, debugging tools, application performance optimisation and release workflows.
- Understanding of mobile application security and secure API communication.
- Ability to work independently while coordinating with a small engineering team.

Preferred Skills
- Previous experience developing OTT, video-on-demand, live-streaming or subscription-based applications.
- Experience with Bunny Stream, Mux, Vimeo, AWS media services or comparable streaming infrastructure.
- Familiarity with adaptive streaming formats such as HLS or MPEG-DASH.
- Experience with video-player SDKs, subtitles, playback progress and protected video playback.
- Exposure to VAST-compatible advertising integrations.
- Experience with Android TV / Google TV, tvOS, Fire TV or other Smart TV ecosystems.
- Familiarity with app-store deployment, analytics, crash reporting and push notifications.




- Knowledge of subscription lifecycle management and entitlement-based content access.

Key: Smart TV Experience Candidates should clearly mention which Smart TV platforms they have actually developed for and launched.

Experience with mobile applications alone is acceptable if the candidate has strong cross-platform development skills and can demonstrate a credible plan for extending the product to supported TV platforms.

However, hands-on Smart TV development experience will be a significant advantage. We are looking for demonstrated capability rather than familiarity with platform names alone.

- Code quality, debugging and technical decision-making.

Candidates may use a small, clearly defined demonstration task. Any assessment will be scoped to evaluate relevant technical skills rather than require substantial unpaid production work. Education A degree or diploma in Computer Science, Information Technology, Software Engineering or a related discipline is preferred. Equivalent practical experience and a strong portfolio will also be considered.

Compensation

Salary will be based on experience, demonstrated technical capability and the breadth of platforms the candidate can reliably support.
