ABOUT RISHIHOOD UNIVERSITY

Rishihood is India’s first national transformation university. It prepares learners to solve the big problems of tomorrow. Our transformative education is built on three pillars:

- Personal Impact – developing physical, intellectual, emotional, and spiritual strength.
- Professional Impact – building real-world skills through industry-integrated, practice-based learning.
- Public Impact – fostering interdisciplinary thinking and a commitment to nation-building.

At Rishihood, we nurture leaders who will transform themselves, their professions, and the nation.

POSITION | Chief Technology Officer

Rishihood University is looking for a CTO to create a technology layer that connects the university's people, processes, and knowledge.

Every stakeholder—learners, faculty, staff, leadership, parents, alumni and external partners—interacts with different departments, systems and workflows. The CTO will map these relationships and build a connected digital environment through which people can communicate, collaborate, access information and move work forward.

The ambition is to develop a distinctive institutional technology ecosystem that reflects how Rishihood works and enables how it wants to grow. RishiVerse will be an important part of this ecosystem, alongside other platforms, integrations, communication channels and tools.

This role requires a systems thinker with strong technical depth, product judgment and the ability to lead implementation.

Key Responsibilities

1. Design the university’s technology layer

- Map stakeholders across departments, their roles, information needs, interactions and dependencies.
- Understand how work moves through the university, including decisions, approvals, communication and service requests.
- Define the architecture that connects people, workflows, applications, and institutional data.
- Create a phased technology roadmap aligned with Rishihood’s institutional priorities.

2. Enable communication and collaboration
- Design clear digital communication pathways within and across departments, and between the university and its stakeholders.
- Ensure that requests, updates, and decisions reach the right people, with clear ownership and visibility of progress.

- Create shared workspaces and knowledge systems that preserve institutional knowledge and make it accessible.
- Work with departments to simplify processes before translating them into digital workflows.

3. Build a connected digital ecosystem
- Lead the evolution of RishiVerse and its integration with other university platforms.
- Establish common identity, access, data and integration standards across systems.
- Enable information to move securely between functions, reducing repeated data entry and fragmented records.
- Make build-versus-buy decisions that balance institutional distinctiveness, usability, cost and maintainability.

4. Lead engineering and delivery
- Build, lead and mentor the technology team, working closely with IT, design and departmental teams.
- Own architectural decisions and remain involved in technical reviews and complex problem-solving.
- Establish standards for development, testing, documentation, deployment and system monitoring.
- Manage technology partners and vendors against clear delivery expectations.
- Deliver improvements in manageable phases, with visible outcomes and accountable ownership.

5. Strengthen institutional intelligence
- Establish trusted data foundations and shared definitions across departments.
- Develop dashboards and reporting that help teams and leadership understand performance, dependencies and unresolved issues.
- Identify opportunities for automation and AI to improve coordination, service delivery and decision-making.
- Evaluate recent capabilities for usefulness, accuracy, privacy and cost.

6. Ensure trust, reliability and adoption
- Establish appropriate access controls, security safeguards, audit trails and recovery practices.
- Coordinate with IT to ensure dependable infrastructure and continuity of critical services.
- Lead adoption through stakeholder participation, training and ongoing feedback.
- Measure success through improvements in communication, turnaround time, data quality,

usability and stakeholder experience.

What Success Looks Like

Year-One Deliverables

1. Institutional technology blueprint — within 90 days Complete a stakeholder and workflow map across academic and administrative departments, assess existing systems, and deliver an approved architecture and phased roadmap. The blueprint should identify system ownership, integration requirements, priority workflows, and baseline performance measures.
- First integrated rollout — within six months

Deliver the first phase of the connected technology layer, building on RishiVerse and integrating relevant existing systems. Cover at least three priority workflows agreed with the COO and department heads, with clear ownership, communication, status tracking and appropriate access controls.
- Measurable workflow improvement — by the end of year one

Digitize and connect at least five priority workflows across departments. For these workflows, target a 30% reduction in turnaround time against the baseline and at least 80% adoption among intended users. Establish dashboards to track usage, pending actions, service performance, and user feedback.

The specific workflows and measurement definitions will be agreed during the first 90 days, with department heads accountable for process ownership and adoption, and the CTO accountable for technology delivery.

What We Are Looking For

- Typically 10–15 years of experience in technology architecture, software engineering or digital transformation, including leadership responsibility.
- Demonstrated experience building connected systems across multiple departments and stakeholder groups.
- Strong grounding in application architecture, databases, APIs, integrations, cloud infrastructure and security.
- Ability to understand organizational processes and translate them into coherent technology solutions.
- Product and user-experience judgment, with an emphasis on making systems usable for diverse users.
- Experience leading engineering teams, managing vendors and making technology investment decisions.
- Ability to work closely with institutional leadership while remaining involved in technical execution.
- Experience in higher education or another complex service organization is desirable.
