Job Summary

We are looking for a skilled and customer-focused Backup Support Engineer to provide technical support for enterprise backup and recovery environments. The ideal candidate should have hands-on experience with EMC Avamar, Networker, Data Domain and storage technologies, SAN infrastructure, backup solutions, Linux, and Windows operating systems. The role requires strong troubleshooting, analytical, communication, and customer service skills.

Key Responsibilities:

- Provide technical support for EMC Avamar backup and recovery solutions.
- Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to backup, restore, replication, and system performance.
- Support enterprise storage environments, including SAN switches and storage arrays.
- Diagnose and resolve issues related to storage connectivity, backup infrastructure, and operating systems.
- Work with Linux and Windows servers to configure, maintain, and troubleshoot backup clients.
- Analyze logs, identify root causes, and implement permanent solutions for technical issues.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to resolve complex customer issues.
- Perform health checks, preventive maintenance, and system monitoring.
- Document troubleshooting steps, knowledge base articles, and technical procedures.
- Ensure SLA compliance while providing timely updates to customers.

Required Skills & Qualifications:





- Good knowledge of EMC Avamar backup and recovery.
- Minimum 3-8 years of experience in backup and storage management.
- Strong knowledge of backup solutions, storage technologies, and data protection strategies.
- Strong understanding of storage technologies and SAN concepts.
- Experience with enterprise backup solutions.
- Good knowledge of Linux and Windows operating systems.
- Understanding of networking concepts (TCP/IP, DNS, VLANs, etc.).
- Experience in troubleshooting hardware and software issues.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Knowledge of storage replication and disaster recovery concepts is an advantage.

- Ability to work effectively in a rapid-paced, customer-facing environment.

Preferred Qualifications:

- Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
- Experience with EMC Avamar, Data Domain, Networker, or other enterprise backup products.
- Knowledge of Brocade/Cisco SAN switches and enterprise storage platforms is an added advantage.
- Relevant EMC or storage certifications are preferred.
