AST SpaceMobile is building the first and only global cellular broadband network in space to operate directly with standard, unmodified mobile devices based on an extensive IP and patent portfolio, designed for both commercial and government applications. The company's engineers and space scientists are on a mission to eliminate the connectivity gaps faced by today's five billion mobile subscribers and finally bring broadband to the billions who remain unconnected.

AST SpaceMobile is looking to hire a DevOps Intern to support DevOps activities with strong full-stack development capability to support cloud infrastructure, CI/CD pipeline management, automation, and containerization technologies. The candidate will be an integral part of the Integration and Automation Division, responsible for automation activities and internal tooling development across cross-functional teams including FSW, GSW, DSS, and Simulation.

In this role, you will manage and maintain Windows Server (2016, 2019) and Windows 11 environments while also supporting Linux-based systems including Ubuntu 22.04 and RHEL. You will work extensively with AWS Cloud Infrastructure, owning and managing services such as EC2, S3, RDS, Load Balancers (ALB/NLB), VPC, Route 53, CloudWatch, and SNS. You will manage AWS ECS, ECR, EKS, and Lambda for containerized and orchestration environments, and work with IAM, CloudFront, Systems Manager, Secrets Manager, KMS, GuardDuty, and CloudTrail.

You will use Terraform and CloudFormation for Infrastructure as Code solutions,



and work with cloud management platforms such as Scalr for workflow governance.

You will design, set up, and manage CI/CD pipelines using GitLab and Azure DevOps, implementing and maintaining configuration management practices to support scalable deployments. You will automate infrastructure deployment using Terraform and CloudFormation in AWS, and write and maintain automation scripts in Python, Bash, and PowerShell. You will monitor system and application performance using Grafana and CloudWatch, building and maintaining alerts and dashboards for system health monitoring.

You will work with Docker for containerization, including authoring Docker files and managing containerized environments. You will deploy and manage workloads on Kubernetes (EKS) for container orchestration. You will design and build internal tools and dashboards using HTML, CSS, and React JS on the front end, develop backend services and APIs in Python, integrating with PostgreSQL databases.

You will apply AI-assisted and vibe coding practices to accelerate prototyping and development of internal tooling.

Requirements

Valuable to have experience with AWS cloud services, including EC2, S3, RDS, Load Balancers, VPC, Route 53, EKS, and ECS. Proficiency in scripting languages such as Python, Bash, and PowerShell. Solid experience with Git and CI/CD tools such as GitLab and Azure DevOps.

Experience with infrastructure automation tools such as Terraform, CloudFormation,



and Scalr. Hands-on full-stack development experience with HTML, CSS, React JS, and Python-based backends. Working knowledge of PostgreSQL or similar relational databases. Understanding of infrastructure monitoring tools such as Grafana.

Experience using both relational and non-relational databases. Bachelor's in technology or related field required. Master's in computer science or related field preferred. Strong interpersonal skills, proven ability to collaborate effectively within cross-functional teams, excellent written and verbal communication skills are essential. Meticulous attention to detail to ensure the accuracy of all documentation and project deliverables.
