About us vunai Labs is a bootstrapped applied AI research lab based in Surat. We partner with enterprises to find where AI can make the biggest difference, then build it, from AI strategy to AI-first products and solutions. Our work combines deep research with practical shipping, and we focus on AI systems for decisions that really matter. We work with ambitious teams across regions, and we’re hiring an AI Engineer to help design and deliver those systems end to end.

What you’ll do

- Work directly with enterprise clients to understand their problems and translate them into AI solutions
- Design, build, and ship AI-powered features from prototype to production
- Turn research ideas and prototypes into reliable systems that clients use in production
- Build applications on top of large language models, including RAG, agents, and tool-calling workflows
- Fine-tune, evaluate, and benchmark models for accuracy, latency, and cost
- Build data pipelines for training, evaluation, and monitoring
- Set up evaluation frameworks and guardrails so model behaviour is measurable and reliable
- Monitor deployed models and improve them based on real usage

What we’re looking for

- 3+ years of software engineering experience, with at least 1–2 years on ML or AI systems




- Robust Python skills and experience with PyTorch, Hugging Face, or similar
- Hands-on experience building with LLM APIs and open-source models
- Familiarity with vector databases (Pinecone, Weaviate, pgvector, etc.) and embedding-based search
- Experience deploying models on AWS, GCP, or Azure using Docker and CI/CD
- Solid understanding of ML fundamentals: training, evaluation, overfitting, and data quality
- Clear communication and comfort working with clients and across teams

Nice to have

- Experience with MLOps tools (MLflow, Weights & Biases, Kubeflow)
- Background in NLP, computer vision, or recommendation systems
- Open-source contributions or published research
- Prior experience in consulting or client-facing engineering roles
