ABOUT THE ENGAGEMENT
We are building a Managed Services team to support the enterprise data platform of one of India's largest financial institutions. The platform spans Cloudera on AWS, an on-premises Oracle data warehouse, Oracle Golden Gate replication, Apache Spark for ETL and data processing, and Alation for data governance. L1 support is handled by our existing team; this role is part of L2/L3 operations.

ROLE MISSION
Own the administration, availability and performance of the on-premises Oracle data warehouse and the Golden Gate replication that feeds the data platform.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Administer Oracle databases supporting the enterprise data warehouse.
- Perform backup and recovery (RMAN), restore validation and disaster recovery drills.
- Monitor and tune database performance using AWR/ASH, SQL tuning and indexing strategies.
- Plan and apply patches, upgrades and configuration changes with proper change control.
- Manage tablespaces, storage, users, roles and privileges in line with audit and compliance requirements.




- Monitor and troubleshoot Oracle Golden Gate replication, including lag, abends and data synchronization issues.
- Handle L2/L3 incidents with root-cause analysis and preventive actions.
- Support audit requests and maintain DBA documentation and runbooks.
- Guide Junior Data Ops engineers on database-related issues.

REPORTING
Reports to the Managed Services delivery lead; works with the Data Security team and the client's DBA team.

HOW WE WORK WITH AI
AI is part of the daily workflow at Xenon Stack, not an add-on.
- Within Xenon Stack's own systems, AI tools are open for use: log and incident analysis, runbook and RCA drafting, scripting and documentation.
- At the client site in Mumbai, you follow the client's compliance and information security policy: use only client-approved tools, and never put client data, logs, credentials, queries or configurations into any tool the client has not approved.
- Every AI-assisted output is verified by you before it is relied on or shared.
- Come ready to talk about what is in your AI stack, how you verify its output, and how you keep it compliant in a regulated environment.

WHAT SUCCESS LOOKS LIKE
- Backups verified by regular restore tests; DR drills meet the agreed RTO and RPO.
- Golden Gate lag within agreed limits, with abends resolved quickly and root-caused.
- No unplanned downtime from patches or changes.
- Audit requests answered on time with complete evidence.

MUST-HAVE SKILLS
- Oracle DBA experience on 12c/19c in production
- RMAN backup and recovery
- Performance tuning (AWR, ASH, execution plans, SQL tuning)
- Patching, tablespace and storage management
- User, role and privilege management




- Linux administration and shell scripting basics

GOOD-TO-HAVE SKILLS
- Oracle Golden Gate administration and troubleshooting (strongly preferred)
- Data Guard, RAC, ASM or Exadata
- Python scripting; exposure to Spark or data pipelines
- Familiarity with Alation

CANDIDATE PROFILE
- B.E./B. Tech/MCA or equivalent; Oracle certification (OCP) is an advantage
- Experience as a production DBA in an enterprise environment; BFSI exposure preferred
- Strong troubleshooting skills and discipline around change and audit processes

HIRING PROCESS
Pre-screening assessment (about 10 minutes, at application) → Technical interview (video) → Technical assessment round (live video; in person at our Mohali office for Chandigarh Tricity candidates) → HR and Leadership round → Background verification → Offer.

TERMS
- Joining and work location: Mumbai, strictly on-site at the client.
- Immediate joining.
- Regulated BFSI production environment; background verification (BGV) is mandatory.
- Support model: 16x5 core support with P1 24x7 on-call, on a rotational basis, as per the client's support model.
- Relocation support and on-call allowance are discussed at the offer stage.
- Compensation as per company policy and budget band.
