Job Purpose

We are looking for a creative and technically strong Textile Designer to develop new woven fabric designs and collections for our customers. The candidate will work closely with the design, merchandising and production teams to convert concepts into commercially viable fabrics.

Key Responsibilities

- Develop new woven fabric designs, especially yarn-dyed fabrics.
- Create checks, stripes, dobby, jacquard and other woven design concepts.
- Develop colour combinations and seasonal colour stories based on market trends.
- Prepare weave designs, drafts, peg plans and technical specifications for production.
- Work with yarn counts, colours, constructions, reed, pick and weave structures.
- Coordinate with weaving, dyeing, warping and washing teams during sampling and production.
- Prepare samples and follow up until the required appearance, construction and quality are achieved.
- Modify designs based on customer requirements and sample feedback.
- Study international and domestic textile trends and develop commercially suitable designs.
- Maintain a database of developed designs, colour combinations, constructions and approved samples.
- Ensure designs are production-friendly and cost-effective.
- Coordinate with merchandising and sales teams to develop fabrics according to buyer requirements.
- Work with CAD/design software to create and modify textile designs.
- Support the development of new collections for shirts,



dresses, tops, bottoms and other woven garments.
- Maintain confidentiality of company and customer designs.

Required Skills

- Good knowledge of woven textile design and fabric construction.
- Knowledge of yarn-dyed fabric development is preferred.
- Understanding of yarn counts, weave structures, reed, pick and fabric GSM.
- Knowledge of CAD textile design / Photoshop / Illustrator / relevant textile CAD software.
- Good colour sense and ability to develop attractive commercial combinations.
- Ability to understand technical requirements and convert them into production-ready designs.
- Good communication and coordination skills.
- Ability to work independently and meet sampling deadlines.

Preferred Experience

Experience: 2–5 years in textile/fabric design, preferably in woven fabrics.

Candidates with experience in yarn-dyed shirting, dobby, checks, stripes or jacquard fabrics will be preferred.

Key Performance Indicators (KPI)

- Number of current commercially viable designs developed per month.
- Sample development turnaround time.
- Number of designs converted into customer orders.
- Accuracy of technical specifications.
- Reduction in sampling/rejection time.
- Successful coordination between design and production teams.

Education

Diploma/Degree in Textile Design, Fashion Design, Textile Technology or a related field preferred.
