SUMMARY OF THE ROLE
As a Coating Advisor, you will be the technical expert supporting our customers directly at their sites. our role is to ensure flawless paint application and comprehensive inspection, ensuring that all coating work complies with project specifications and contract requirements. By delivering hands-on guidance and skilled advice, you’ll help ensure project success and customer satisfaction.
The position is based at Chennai and will be reporting to Assistant Manager - Technical Services.
Responsibilities:
• Provide clear guidance to clients and Jotun staff on proper paint application at site to ensure the coating specification and customer expectations are met.
• Work independently on site with client representatives to ensure correct application practices.
• Support the Technical Services Manager by training and mentoring Junior Coating Advisors to help them work independently.
• Manage projects involving advanced products by following specific procedures and clearly instructing all parties to meet specifications and customer expectations.
• Conduct site inspections independently as assigned, following ITPs and standard working procedures.
• Prepare accurate inspection and project reports to confirm that specification requirements have been met.
WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR AND WHAT WE OFFER
Qualifications & Experience
• Graduate in Mechanical or Chemical Engineering.
• More than 4 years of relevant experience, protective coatings/paints & coatings industry experience is an added advantage.
• A recognized certification in coating inspection, such as FROSIO Level III (Red), NACE Level 2, or an equivalent qualification.
• Good English communication skills, both spoken and written.
Good to Have
• Hands-on experience in coating inspection and application processes.
• Familiarity with international coating standards and specifications.
• Ability to work independently at customer sites and ensure compliance with contract and technical requirements
