About the Opportunity
A rapidly scaling D2C (Direct-to-Consumer) brand in India, we’re building a data-driven finance engine to power hyper-growth, operational efficiency, and real-time P&L; ownership across channels. As Cost Accountant Manager, you’ll architect and own the cost accounting framework that fuels pricing decisions, inventory health, and unit economics for a high-velocity e-commerce business.

Role & Responsibilities

- Design and maintain granular cost accounting models for D2C product lines, including landed cost, COGS, and channel-specific allocations.
- Own monthly close process for cost-related GL accounts, ensuring accuracy and alignment with inventory movements and P&L; reporting.
- Partner with Supply Chain and Procurement to capture and validate variable and fixed cost components across vendors, logistics, and warehousing.
- Build dashboards and KPIs (e.g., unit cost variance, margin erosion drivers) to enable real-time decision-making by commercial and product teams.
- Lead cost-saving initiatives by identifying inefficiencies in packaging, freight,



or production overheads and benchmarking against industry peers.
- Implement process controls and automation (Excel/VBA or ERP modules) to scale cost attribution across SKU, region, and sales channel.

- Advanced Excel (PivotTables, VLOOKUP, macros)
- ERP systems (NetSuite, SAP, Oracle Financials)
- COGS accounting
- Inventory valuation (FIFO, LIFO, weighted average)
- Cost allocation models
- BI tools (Power BI, Tableau)
- Financial close processes
- Robust analytical reasoning

- Experience with D2C or e-commerce finance
- Knowledge of Amazon/Walmart/Flipkart seller central cost structures
