Talent Acquisition & People Operations Intern — Karta

Bengaluru | Onsite | Four-month internship
Six days a week, 11:00 a.m.–8:00 p.m. IST

Karta builds AI voice and chat agents for customer support. We’re looking for a practical, organised early-career professional to help us hire across technical and business roles and keep day-to-day people operations running.

You will initially be our only dedicated HR team member, working directly with and receiving mentorship from the founders. Sourcing and recruitment coordination will be your primary responsibility, alongside selected HR and operations work. The founders will help you understand each role, calibrate candidate screening and prioritise your work.

What you’ll do

Recruitment and sourcing
• Learn role requirements and screening criteria with the founders and hiring managers.
• Source relevant candidates through job boards, LinkedIn, referrals, communities and direct outreach.
• Conduct initial conversations using agreed screening criteria, and record clear notes on experience, motivation,



availability and compensation expectations.
• Schedule interviews, collect feedback and follow up with candidates through the hiring process.
• Maintain an accurate candidate tracker with a clear next action, owner and date; flag stalled decisions and provide concise pipeline updates.

People operations and coordination
• Coordinate onboarding and offboarding checklists, documentation and employee records.
• Help maintain attendance, leave and other routine HR records.
• Collect payroll inputs and coordinate with the founders and external providers.
• Support office, IT asset and vendor records, and follow up on assigned operational tasks.
• Help document and improve straightforward HR processes as you learn the business.

The founders and hiring managers will retain final hiring decisions, offer approvals, policy decisions and sensitive employee matters. Payroll and compliance work will be handled with founder oversight and qualifie
