Job Overview

Senior Software Engineer (Java)

This position is responsible for developing software applications for Arcserve UDP product family. Provide complex code modification, testing and debugging tasks.

Key Responsibilities
• Fix bugs, add enhancements. Perform unit/module testing of software to find errors and confirm programs meet specifications.




• Troubleshoot issues and escalations from field installations and provide patches/assistance to L1 support.
• Assist quality assurance team by providing assistance and support as needed to determine system problems. Collaborate with quality assurance in creation of their test plans and participate in reviews.
• Write and maintain documentation to describe program development, logic, coding, testing, changes, and corrections.
• Mentor group of junior engineers if necessary.

Skills and experience
• Strong object-oriented programming experience in Java.
• Working knowledge of data storage concepts and disaster recovery infrastructure/technology.
• Knowledge on Linux/UNIX will be a plus.
• Knowledge of programming languages such as C++ a plus.
• Development experience on virtualization setting like VMWare, HYPER-V, Exchange, O365 will be a plus.
• Knowledge of networking concepts and RPC.
