About The Engagement

We are building a Managed Services team to support a large-scale enterprise data platform. The platform spans Cloudera on AWS, an on-premises Oracle data warehouse, Oracle GoldenGate replication, Apache Spark for ETL and data processing, and Alation for data governance. L1 support is handled by our existing team; this role is part of L2/L3 operations.

ROLE MISSION

Own the administration, stability and performance of the Cloudera platform, acting as the L2/L3 expert for cluster issues and preventive maintenance.

Key Responsibilities

• Administer and monitor Cloudera clusters on AWS using Cloudera Manager or CDP management tools.
• Manage core services including HDFS, YARN, Hive, Impala and Spark on YARN.
• Handle L2/L3 incidents: node and service failures, resource contention, job queue and capacity issues.
• Perform root-cause analysis and implement preventive and corrective actions.
