Job Summary:

We are looking for a Mechanical Design Engineer with experience in AutoCAD, sheet-metal engineering, fabrication drawings, welding symbols, CNC programming and standard drawing practices. The candidate will be responsible for creating and modifying mechanical parts, assemblies and detailed engineering drawings while ensuring accuracy, manufacturability and compliance with drawing and fabrication standards.

Key Responsibilities:

- Create and modify mechanical parts, assemblies and detailed engineering drawings using AutoCAD.
- Prepare and maintain drawings in accordance with standard drawing practices.
- Apply appropriate drawing symbols, welding symbols and tolerances as required.
- Develop designs considering sheet-metal properties and fabrication processes.
- Apply knowledge of materials used in fabrication while developing mechanical designs.
- Prepare and interpret drawings related to welding, fabrication and sheet-metal engineering.
- Coordinate with manufacturing/fabrication teams to ensure designs are practical and production-ready.




- Utilize relevant knowledge of CNC programming and Waterjet machining in the design and manufacturing process.
- Integrate appropriate welding practices and welding symbols into engineering drawings.
- Ensure accurate representation of welding and fabrication requirements in drawings.
- Support drawing modifications and updates based on project or manufacturing requirements.
- Maintain accuracy and consistency across drawings and documentation.

Experience & Qualification:

- Bachelor of Engineering (BE) degree with 2+ years of experience or Diploma.
- Client Communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Experience in AutoCAD drawings and mechanical drafting.
- Good understanding of standard drawing practices.
- Knowledge of sheet-metal properties and fabrication processes.
- Understanding of welding symbols, tolerances and fabrication drawings.
- Basic knowledge of CNC programming and Waterjet machining.
- Ability to create accurate parts, assemblies and detailed manufacturing drawings.
- Ability to work collaboratively with manufacturing and other cross-functional teams.
- Robust verbal and written communication skills.
