Electrical Engineer

Location: Offshore Engineering Center (Pune, India)

Experience: 815 Years

About the Role

We are looking for an experienced Electrical Draftsman to support the Electrical Engineering team in the detailed drafting and documentation of PDCs, PECs, modular electrical enclosures, and containerized power systems.

The role will be responsible for preparing accurate electrical drawings and engineering documentation using EPLAN and AutoCAD, based on engineering inputs, project specifications, and established design standards.

Key Responsibilities

1. Electrical Drafting & Documentation

- Prepare and update detailed electrical drawings for PDCs, PECs, modular electrical enclosures, switchboards, PCCs, MCCs, and control panels.
- Develop and maintain:
- Single Line Diagrams (SLDs)
- Electrical schematics
- Control and wiring diagrams
- Terminal and termination drawings
- Cable schedules
- Interconnection diagrams
- Panel and enclosure layouts
- Electrical General Arrangement (GA) drawings
- Component and equipment layouts
- Convert engineering concepts and marked-up drawings into accurate detailed drawings.
- Incorporate engineering revisions and client comments into drawings.
- Maintain drawing revisions, numbering, references, and documentation standards.

2. EPLAN drafting

- Develop electrical schematics and control drawings using EPLAN.
- Create and maintain EPLAN projects, pages, macros, symbols, and component data.
- Prepare terminal diagrams, connection lists, cable reports, and other required EPLAN outputs.
- Maintain consistent electrical design standards and templates within EPLAN.
- Support the Electrical Engineer in developing standardized and reusable EPLAN design solutions.
- Perform drawing checks to ensure correct connectivity, tagging, cross-referencing, and component information.

4. Engineering Coordination





- Work closely with Electrical Engineers to develop drawings as per project requirements.
- Coordinate with Mechanical, Structural, HVAC, Instrumentation, and Manufacturing teams to resolve drawing interfaces.
- Identify drafting conflicts, missing information, and discrepancies and raise them with the responsible engineer.
- Support engineering teams during manufacturing and assembly by providing drawing clarifications.

5. Drawing Quality & Control

- Ensure drawings are accurate, complete, and compliant with company drafting standards.
- Perform self-checks before submission for:
- Dimensions and layouts
- Equipment tags
- Cable and terminal references
- Cross-references
- Drawing numbering
- Revision status
- BOM/component information
- Follow document control and engineering change procedures.
- Maintain proper drawing revision history and ensure the latest approved drawings are used.

Qualifications

- Diploma / Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or Electrical Design/Drafting.
- 5–8 years of relevant experience in electrical drafting and documentation.
- Robust hands-on experience with EPLAN and AutoCAD.
- Experience in electrical panel, modular electrical systems, or containerized power systems is preferred.
- Good understanding of electrical drawings, symbols, wiring, cable routing, terminals, and electrical equipment.

Software Skills

Mandatory:

- EPLAN Electric P8
- AutoCAD 2D

Preferred:

- MS Office
- Experience with engineering document management / PLM systems
- Basic understanding of electrical engineering calculation and design software

Key Competencies

- Strong 2D electrical drafting skills
- Good understanding of electrical schematics and wiring
- EPLAN project and drawing management
- Ability to interpret engineering specifications and marked-up drawings
- Good multidisciplinary coordination skills
- Ability to manage multiple drawing deliverables within project schedules
- Strong documentation and revision-control discipline
