Job Description: CT Technician

Job SummaryWe are looking for an experienced and skilled CT Technician with a minimum of 3 years of experience who can independently manage and operate the CT unit. The candidate should have solid technical knowledge, excellent patient-handling skills, and the ability to perform CT scans efficiently while maintaining image quality, patient safety, and departmental workflow.

- Key ResponsibilitiesIndependently manage day-to-day operations of the CT scan unit.
- Perform routine and advanced CT examinations as prescribed by the radiologist, within the candidate's training and authorized scope of practice.
- Handle CT procedures, including plain CT, contrast-enhanced CT, and other applicable CT studies.
- Prepare patients for examinations, verify patient details, explain procedures, and ensure proper positioning.
- Screen patients for contrast-related risks and verify required safety checks and investigations as per hospital protocol.
- Assist with contrast administration according to institutional protocols, authorization, and applicable professional scope.
- Monitor patients during and after contrast procedures and respond promptly to adverse reactions according to emergency protocols.
- Ensure proper image acquisition, scan protocols, image quality, and timely transfer of images to PACS/RIS.
- Coordinate with radiologists, referring doctors,



nursing staff, and other departments.
- Maintain radiation safety, infection control, and patient confidentiality standards.
- Perform daily equipment checks and maintain CT machine records, quality-control logs, and maintenance registers.
- Monitor consumables, contrast media stock, and other essential supplies.
- Manage patient appointments, workflow, and emergency scan requirements efficiently.
- Maintain accurate documentation and ensure compliance with hospital policies and applicable quality standards.
- Required Qualifications and SkillsDiploma or Bachelor's degree in Medical Imaging Technology / Radiology Technology or equivalent recognized qualification.
- Minimum 3 years of hands-on CT scan experience.
- Ability to manage the CT unit independently during assigned shifts.
- Good knowledge of CT protocols, cross-sectional anatomy, radiation protection, and contrast procedures.
- Strong communication, patient-care, and emergency-response skills.
- Ability to work independently, maintain accurate records, and coordinate effectively with the radiology team.

Preferred CandidateCandidates with strong technical expertise, a responsible attitude, and proven experience in independently handling CT unit operations are preferred.

Important: Candidates must be capable of managing the CT unit independently while following established clinical protocols, safety standards, and escalation procedures.
