Job Summary

We are looking for an experienced and responsible Site In-Charge to manage the day-to-day operations of a Water & Wastewater Treatment Plant at Taramani, Chennai.

The ideal candidate should have hands-on experience in STP/ETP operations, manpower management, plant operations, safety compliance, documentation and MIS reporting. The candidate will be responsible for ensuring smooth plant operations, effective manpower utilization and compliance with operational and safety standards.

Key Responsibilities

1. Plant Operations & Management

- Manage and monitor day-to-day operations of the STP/ETP plant.
- Ensure smooth and continuous plant operation as per defined operational standards.
- Monitor plant parameters and ensure proper operation of equipment.
- Coordinate with operators and technicians for effective plant functioning.
- Identify operational issues and coordinate with the concerned team for timely resolution.
- Ensure proper housekeeping and overall site discipline.

2. Manpower Management

- Manage site manpower including Operators, Technicians, Helpers and other site personnel.
- Prepare and manage shift schedules and manpower deployment.
- Ensure adequate manpower availability for all shifts.
- Monitor attendance, absenteeism, overtime and manpower productivity.
- Allocate responsibilities to employees based on operational requirements.
- Guide, supervise and motivate site team members.

3. MIS & Documentation

- Prepare and maintain daily, weekly and monthly site MIS reports.
- Maintain plant operation records,



logbooks and shift reports.
- Prepare manpower attendance and deployment reports.
- Maintain records related to plant performance, breakdowns and maintenance activities.
- Submit required reports to management/client within defined timelines.
- Maintain proper documentation of site activities and operational records.

4. Client Coordination

- Coordinate with the client/site representative regarding daily plant operations.
- Address operational issues and client requirements in a timely manner.
- Maintain qualified relationships with the client.
- Participate in site meetings and provide updates on plant performance and manpower status.

5. Safety & Compliance

- Ensure compliance with basic safety rules and site safety procedures.
- Ensure employees use appropriate PPE while working at the plant.
- Conduct regular safety awareness and toolbox meetings as required.
- Report unsafe conditions, incidents and operational hazards to the concerned authority.
- Ensure safe working practices during plant operation and maintenance activities.

6. Maintenance Coordination

- Coordinate with maintenance teams for preventive and breakdown maintenance.
- Monitor the condition of pumps, motors, blowers, valves and other plant equipment.
- Ensure timely reporting of equipment breakdowns.
- Follow up on maintenance activities to minimize plant downtime.





Required Skills & Competencies

- Strong knowledge of STP/ETP plant operations.
- Experience in the Water & Wastewater Treatment Industry.
- Good manpower handling and team management skills.
- Good knowledge of shift planning and manpower deployment.
- Experience in MIS reporting and site documentation.
- Good communication and client coordination skills.
- Basic knowledge of plant equipment such as Pumps, Motors, Blowers and Valves.
- Basic understanding of safety procedures and PPE requirements.
- Good problem-solving and decision-making ability.
- Ability to independently manage day-to-day site activities.
- Good knowledge of MS Excel and MS Office will be preferred.

Candidate Profile

The candidate should be a responsible and technically sound professional with hands-on experience in STP/ETP operations and site management. Candidates who have previously worked as Site In-Charge, Site Supervisor, Plant Supervisor, STP/ETP Supervisor or similar positions in the Water & Wastewater Treatment industry are preferred.

Education

- Diploma / B.Sc. / B.E. / B.Tech
- Candidates from Environmental, Chemical, Mechanical, Electrical or related engineering backgrounds will be preferred.
